Santo Domingo.-President Leonel Fernández today designated a commission to investigate the Peravia province senator Wilton Guerrero’s allegation that law enforcement agencies in the southern city Bani are involved with drug trafficking, said the Presidency’s Press director Rafael Nunez.

He said the commissioners, Armed Forces minister Ramon Aquino, Police chief Rafael Guzman, and Justice minister Radhamés Jimenez, should render a report as soon as possible, in the wake of the “Bani bloodbath,” where five Colombians, one Venezuelan, and one Dominican were gunnded down in what investigators say was a cocaine ripoff.

Guerrero, a senior ruling PLD party leader, on Wednesday said Police, Drugs Control and the Justice Ministry in Peravia province are "agencies at the service of drug trafficking."

All he ever does, buy time. Give me a commission report. From the 3 generals that should have known (did know) this was going on, Get it off the front page.

He never brings one of these Generals by the balls. You get this right or your out of here. He only thinks of the political , after alll that is what he is a politician.
The generals play him like a yo-yo. He is too predictable. He should fire 2 guys right now, and watch the rest get in line
.
Do you wonder, why all those Generals in DR want back on active duty after they are retired. The US has only a few cases every 20 years. Gen Schoomaker, Chief of Staff US Army, who Bush brought back, to quell other Generals who did not agree with Iraq war and Rumsfeld policies. And, Gen MacArthur, nothing else needed on him.

In DR all they do is try to get back in service. What for, so they can steal some more. The DNCD guy, Pared Perez (DNI), Rojas-Tabar(CESA), all had higher jobs. But came back to steal some more.

Herr Doktor Johann .. those Bani drugs were for treating my arthritis .. I may have to come by the clinic and pick up some hydrocodone .. and there will be many such "commissions" .. one for each and every one of the many narcotics related blood baths to come .. in Mexico .. where entire families are slaughtered in retaliation for relatively small "deals gone bad" .. this would have been considered a "minor altercation" .. well at least they did not FedEx the decapitated heads to their families in Colombia .. as they routinely do in Mexico .. Jawhol Herr Doktor Johann?

A commission? Now you're talking!!

A commission was created to look into the execution of Sosua fiscal Teodulo Ceballos 2 years ago. The outcome? Sweet ditch.

Another one was created to investigate the floods from the Taveras dam. Results? Sweet fluck-all.

Keep sending those keystone cops without a clue on the run around.

Meanwhile, business as usual.

They should scrap the commission, save the money and take care of business, arrest and convict of all those responsible, they can then play point the finger at one another later. After all most commissions are made to give the public the sense that something is being done in the first place.
