SANTO DOMINGO.- The United States will shore up its Federal Bureau  Investigations (FBI) office in the Dominican Republic, with more agents and federal prosecutors, to widen the probe into the alleged laundering in the country of more than US$100 million from a Medicare fraud.

The Justice Ministry’s Anti-laundering Unit chief German Miranda said the U.S. investigators will arrive in the country next week to work jointly with Dominican authorities, now working to identify and verify proceed to confiscate other properties of the Cuban-born Benítez brothers, accused of the fraud.

He said the properties to be seized in the coming days are located in the capital and the eastern part of the country, where the Benítezes had most of their assets.

He also revealed that investigators “triangulate” the search for three of 11 safes with money the Benítezes had in the zone of Higüey and Bávaro, after eight were found empty, though it’s presumed the cash is in the hands of two Dominicans and a Cuban, who are being sought in the case.

What are they sending more Cuban-American Spanglish agents from Hialeah, or Jer-sii City? To investigate the Cubano Calle Ocho Babalao's tracks? They are long gone, acere! Probably hanging out in the Canary Islands with their cousins, Los Isleños. The Benitez clan walked into the perfect situation in DR, where money talks, and poor people ride "motoconchos".
Miami is full of this type of fraudsters: They pick up the elderly patients smooze them with pleasentries, give them "Cafe Cubano", then prescribe un-necessary items such as a 'Craftmatic Beds', Oxygen tanks, un-warranted medications or surgery to bilk the Medicare, Medicaid system for the last dime. Go back to Miami, that's where the Mother-Lode of these Benitez's is.
Here's a hint for the Hialeah FBI (LosBravos): By the way were'nt four of the "Watergate" break-in perpetrators Cubans from South Florida? So why come to the Caribbean looking for CATFISH?
They're back in the Miami River, or floating n the Everglades.

It is completely unfair to treat this incidence as the typical behavior of all Cubans in exile, whether in Miami or elsewhere, as it would be to generalize the behavior of any citizen of any country due to what one or some citizens of that country do or do not.

It is even worse when a blind eye is turned to unjust situations affecting the lives of millions because of ideals, politics or else. Justice must be served in the name of justice, not in the name of personal or political preferences.

Before being Cuban, Canadian, white, black, rich or poor, we’re human beings with the common desire of achieving happiness. We forget this, and we take from others, and when we do, sooner or later, we will pay.

Herr Doktor Johann .. I have a better suggestion .. how about Raul release his political prisoners and throw YOU into the dungeon instead .. you will like it because it will relieve you of your heavy blogging responsibilities on DT .. you will also have all the freedom you want .. to wander about your 1-meter by 1-meter by 1-meter cell .. you get 3 square meals a day .. 1 coconut for breakfast .. 1 coconut for lunch .. 1 coconut for dinner .. on your birthday you get an extra coconut provided you don't say anything bad about Raul .. Jawohl Herr Doktor Johann?

What about the honey country USA - why dont u take care of the 10 million americans living under starvation conditions within the US - what do u say would u pay 1% more tax to solve this? would u run out of your good life because of that?

taxasshoe,
now I got u u would rather have Hugo build a new arms factory in Texas just to let the unemployed start working - oh shit I forgot there are so many arms factories in the USA that this would have been to much of a competition. No, hell he should just be forced to buy those arms from the USA. As fare as I understand all americans are entitled to have a gun to protect themselves, but Venezuela do not have the same right to protect themselves from the "American interest".
quote
And my response was simple, 3 billion dollars buying weapons and look at the main highway from Caracas to Puerto La Cruz, you need a four wheel drive to traverse it. Look at the street in front of your house, look at the bridge that collapsed last year. Wouldnt rather have all of that fixed plus jobs for everyone or can you eat a rifle.
