SANTO DOMINGO. - President Leonel Fernandez returned the chief and assistant of the Supreme Court’s security agents to active duty, bowing to pressure by Chief justice Jorge Subero Isa.
National Police chief Rafael Guzmán went to the Supreme Court Monday morning to communicate the decision.
Subero protested Fernandez’s decision to place general Ángel Terrero and colonel Sheila de los Santos on retirement last week, as part of wave of Police and military officers removed from active duty.
He said the retired officers had the confidence of the justices, and called the fact he wasn’t previously told of the measure a lack of courtesy.
