Santo Domingo. - The economist Andy Dauhajre said Monday that ex president Hipólito Mejía didn’t know the alleged lobbying by the indicted ex banker Pedro Castillo, whom reports affirm made 23 million dollars during that Presidency (2000-2004), a revelation that breaks yet another scandal for the former leader.
“I believe that Hipólito didn’t know anything of that,” he said interviewed by Cesar Medina in the Hoy Mismo television program.
Dauhajre, who was the External adviser to the Central Bank during Mejía’s term, said he was also unaware of the particular dealings of Castillo, who faces charges of embezzling RD$14 billion in the Progreso bank.
Castillo testified in a United States court that as ambassador at large in said period he conducted transactions of 300 million dollars for government agencies, and made 23 million dollars in commissions, althoug Mejía, during an interview for the weekly Clave, said he wasn’t aware of them.

They are worse than the drug dealers, but when they try their line of bull in a US court criminal or civil the stories just do not wash.
Andy had seized property from BANINTER leased to his name for peanuts and then re-rented it for 100 times the amount.
HIS OPINION IS NOT OBJECTIVE.
