BANÍ.- Judge Suinda Brito set bond at RD$1 million for Martin Sterling Villalón, son of Barahona senator Noe Sterling Vásquez, who said his son was being used as a "scapegoat" to cover those responsible, and that "many were going to fall," in the Bani bloodbath case, where 7 Colombians were gunned down in a drug “rip-off.”
Meanwhile the Investigating Commission has interrogated 161 people in the case, 31 of them in the last 72 hours, among them a Spanish merchant in San Cristóbal, Adolfo Justo Cervantes Areyena, 39, shot nine times the Wednesday night.
This same Spaniard was interrogated for the murder of National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) lieutenant Guillermo Tejeda Krawinkel.
Peravia province prosecutor Robert Lugo on Wednesday asked that Sterling be held for 18 months for his alleged link to the killings in Paya, a case in which 13 people are being held so far.
