SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Government “expresses its firm support” for Bolivia’s constitutional government, headed by Evo Morales, says a statement by president Leonel Fernandez Monday night.

The Presidency’s press director Rafael Núñez read the chief executive’s declaration regarding Morales, who has faced a series of violent disturbances in several regions in the last few days.

“President Morales was elect by the Bolivian people and his mandate must conclude at the moment that that country’s Constitution establishes,” said Núñez, adding that the Dominican Government’s statement will be sent to the Bolivian Government through the Foreign Relations Ministry.

"Raul Castro recalls that Cuban workers are offering their services in all nine Bolivian departments, in an effort to boost health and education programs in the benefit of the Bolivian people. Among the achievements of the joint work of Cuban and Venezuelan workers in Bolivia, illiteracy has been wiped out of 225 of all 327 municipalities, standing for 664, 000 citizens who already know how to read and write. The joint effort expects to declare all 327 Bolivian municipalities free of illiteracy by the end of the year". .............josean you probably believe this as well ......Are you standing in for Belial in his absence ?

Not sure this is toe-ing just Chavez's line. Go take a look at what Foreign Minister of Brazil has said. They buy the gas, and if Georgia is any indication of the current state of geo-politics, they'll have the final say on what happens near their borders.

Evo is nothing more than a land theiving wild indian from the hills and has long been eyeing the rich lands to the east with a larsonous desire to expand his cronyism by shipping the illiterate landless masses that represent his fellow tribesmen into the only productive and modern sector of the country. Understanably the region in question is disaffected and wants nothing to do with his neo-comunist policies. One would hope the military leaders realize who pays their way and abandons Evo to rule the western highlands where his support is centered.

No compassion for people who are not like you don't speak like you, don't look like you, don't have your customs. There no respect for diversity and humanity all together. What a shame. Humans (particularly certain groups) like to think they the center of the universe but we just tiny tiny tiny part of it.

gouletcolonial, what makes you think that the Spanish were not savages and that the Indians did not have sophisticated societies. People ya need to educate yourselves quick because time don't wait neither does disaster.

Does any one find it odd that all the revalutionarie "leaders" of S. America are supporting the "man" and not those fighting for autonomy and their homes. Morales wants to shift the demographic of the area in question much in the way Stalin did with the relocation of the russian serf class to areas not previously under Russian rule, Ukraine, Estonia, Georgia etc...While the vast majority of indigionous peoples support the Morales Govt. for it's blantant patronage and wealth redistrobution schemes. They represent a very limited scope in the over all productiveness of the nation as most are simply living in the widerness and growing cocaine, While the people of the East have built industries and commerce . Now Evo wishes to Appropiate it for himself and his chosen "pets" The east should cut off the Gas to La Paz and simply starve them out.

gouletcolonial, - lol You are very one sided and slow and what does my name have to do with one comment I can see you are very judgmental of others and on top of that cynical. To say that the Indians were savages which by the way their were many different ethnic groups with different practices not just one and to not admit the atrocities that Spanish committed in the name of religion and power is completely absurd
