SANTO DOMINGO.- The Supreme Court’s Penal Chamber ruled to extradite a man wanted in the United States on seven counts of conspiracy to deal drugs, 100 kilos of cocaine among them.

The court-ordered extradition of Robinson Ruiz is based on indictments unsealed on March, 23, 2005, and April 26, 2006, and on which a U.S. judge issued an arrest warrant against him. It also ordered the provisional seizure of assets in his name and instructed the Justice Minister the proceed on the decision.

The U.S. based its extradition request on the fact that Ruiz is wanted in the District of Massachusetts on charges of possession and conspiracy to distribute cocaine, marijuana and oxicodine.
