SANTO DOMINGO. - Navy chief Julio Cesar Ventura Bayonet today confirmed the interrogation of three officers for alleged links to the killings of 7 Colombian drug traffickers in Baní, after unconfirmed reports of lieutenant commander Genaro Silverio Balbuena’s arrest in Puerto Plata.
Meanwhile Police spokesman Nelson Rosario said tomorrow Wednesday a press note will be issued with the latest on the investigation.
The official also said he still doesn’t know of Silverio’s announced arrest as as suspect in the case, and expects to provide new information on several others pending.
Ventura said the detainees are a commander (lieutenant colonel), a lieutenant commander (major) and a lieutenant (captain), who according to the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) are linked with people in the world of drugs.
Senator Guerrero
Peravia province senator Wilton Guerreo on Tuesday challenged the Police chief to identify the full names of the masterminds in the murders.
The ruling PLD party legislator received the support of Celeste Gomez, the ex senator and sister of the also senator Dario Gomez, killed 7 years ago by drug traffickers.
She went to Congress accompanied by the priest of the church of God, Elvis Samuel Medina, who affirmed that there are many business leaders, politicians and military in narcotics trafficking.

If ALL of thoses folks arrested are connected to this, how much does 1192 kilos of cocaine sell for and how did they arrainge the split. ....OK, each of you 30 navy guys get....., you 137 cops each get......
PLEASEEEEEE

"I don't believe that our Dominican partners in the drug war have been caught while engaging in major breaches of international drug laws!"
US Ambassador:
Yes, I am shocked too! Especially how they cut us out of the Bani deal!
FBI Chief:
Has that A-hole JD continued to make a fuss about getting drug dealers out of the Santiago barrio of Ensanche Caonabo & DNCD corruption?
US Ambassador:
Affirmative. I responded with the usual Gov line that we would look into it. I asked the RD Gov for a bigger cut of the pie if they wanted to avoid US Gov pressures...but I wish I knew of the Bani deal then we would ask 4 a bigger %!
FBI Chief:
Our strategic move is to find out on the front-end where the next Bani might be & get the drugs 4 ourselves!
US Ambassador:
Our intelligence informs us there is a little black book listing on the market called the PROGRAM that will give us good leads for shake-downs without risking $ kick-backs.
FBI Chief:
Okay, le
If he talked to the Attorney General, then he wouldn't get his name in the paper, would he?
I'm sure that is the one reason he went to the Legislature. That way he gets maximum exposure.
