SANTO DOMINGO.- A small plane with four people and an undetermined amount of drug crashed yesterday at dawn on a mountain in Altagracia, Pedernales (southwest), the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) last night.

The authorities tracked it until it disappeared from radar, and blame the bad weather for the crash, said DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebrón.

The country of origin of the plane, consumed by fire, is unknown although most of those craft come from South America.

Lebrón said of the occupants only one could be identified.

Forensics and prosecutors will go to the place today, where the two bundles of the drug remains guarded by the DNCD.

Why with DNCD it is always an "undetermined amount of drugs". In my job I have standard practices & equipment in order to promptly perform my duties. How is it that the DNCD can never figure out how much drugs there are unless US DEA agents are involved?

This the Dominican system of "don't ask, don't tell". There was not mention of a fire nor that the drugs were destroyed. These drugs will be recycled and put back into the supply pipeline for a price. We already know the SW DNCD is corrupt and I can personally testify of the DNCD Norte in Santiago is corrupt as hell.

If community leaders want drugs out of their neighborhood then we must pay the jefe of DNCD Norte to do the job is already getting paid to do by the RD Gov. That job is to close & arrest major drug distribution houses like the Pichardos in Ensanche Caonabo (near the Cibao Stadium & Children's Hospital). They have had major shipments of drugs since late summer but no one gives a damn about poor Dominicans!

The extra weight would be justified if they were 3 Colombian necktie salesmen here to rectify past transgressions against the mafia/cartel !!!!!!!!

Now it is only 75 kilos, the cut is too much for each GOVT guy that get's there.

OK, so a plane that cost at least $100k, travelled from Colombia to DR to drop off 75 kilos. What were the extra 2 guys for, a relief crew? Oh, the navigator and flight attendent, my bad.

And watch as the big idiot makes a commission of inguiry with the Generals and Justice people, and they will charge a Sgt with stealing 5 kilos to make it 80 kilos.

I watched the news clip of this crash and 2 things were evident........1) big brass from every branch of military and law enforcement were there for their cut and 2) while the bodies were burned beyond recognition the goods were intact and not even scorched a little!!!!!!!!!

All I know is the plane went down, no drogas on the streets (at least they say for now) I don't feel bad for the four in the plane, you want big pesos doing bad things, suffer the consequences.
