Santo Domingo.– The Emergencies Operations Center (COE) issued a red alert for eight provincies: La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo and the National District, while four persons drowned.
The tropical wave, which will bring more heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms today, killed Augusto Alcántara Beltré, 75, Bienvenido Reyes Medina (Biembo), 31, Ámbar Patricio Feliz, 2, and Elías Alfredo Pichardo Hernández, 1 year old. They were from San Juan de la Maguana, Barahona, Esperanza and Villa Mella, respectively.

Again, my regards to the family.

I can still see heavy clouds over Barahona, storm is (present) long from Turks and Caicos to Colombia and wide from barahona to porto rico. Monte Cristi, I would say, less rain, more wind there.
Leonel has to do something with Drainage on the streets and urban setllements. Good monitoring lately is coming from US aircrafts observing storms, so they can be prepared. Why dont we (Gov.) do something, except waiting that people get killed because of the rain??
So there are not drainage, street lights.
A ghetto is described as a "portion of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure." The term 'Ghetto' was originally used to refer to the Venetian Ghetto in Venice, Italy where Jews were forced to live. The word "ghetto" actually means "foundry" in Italian, a reference to a foundry located on the same island as the area of Jewish confinement.
So Pulla, Guachupita, guandule, has to go:
