SANTO DOMINGO.
- Juan Bosch, after having won the first elections held in the country after
the decapitation of Rafael Trujillo’s 30-year long dictatorship on December 20,
1962, was overthrown just nine months later on September 25, 1963.
His government, inaugurated February 27 that year, lasted seven months.
Bosch had returned to the country at the end of 1961 after living in exile
for more than 20 years, at the top of Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD),
which he led in forming in Cuba
in 1939, spearheading the anti-Trujillo movement abroad.
According to historians and writers including Victor Grimaldi and Euclides
Gutierrez Felix, the U.S. Government led the conspiracy that culminated with
the ouster.

You may as well know a few things, The U.S. forms the basis of growth and stability in Dominican Republic, that is a absolute, all under the auspices of Democoracy, not perfect but better than here.
President Ike told Trujillo to cool out he did not listen,.President Kennedy made him understand what Ike told him. Bosch wal told also, he did not listen, President Kennedy made him understand. Soon some new kids on the block will be told, lets see if that one listens.
This country is not far from the U.S., become a friend of a U.S. enemy at you own risk, it will take all of 15 minutes before these tin horns know what it means to fool around.
Right off the Dominican coast line is compelling power to rout any gangs of thieves in Santo Domingo, so I would suggest Dominicans watch their associations. This country cannot bite the hands that feed it for free.

Great timing for these deliberations coinciding with the "beg-fest" that Leonel is currently attending at the UN.
These provocateurs sure know when to open a can of trouble; or did they toss a Molotov Cocktail to stir up the celebration?
What choice of words?
What command of the International-socialist vernacular? U.S.-led putsch? By golly, gosh.
Next, they'll start using Perestoyka, or Solidarnoz?
Anyway, Bosch was JFK's boy in the country; Lyndon B. Johnson and PR's Muñoz Marin attended his inaguration. What happened was that many Dominican's who saw how he didn't achieve any of his promises quickly got fed up. Not all the whackers of Trujillo were cronies of Fidel Castro like Bosch was. He lied like a rug. I remember, back then they'd say: "Ese era el cuentaso de Juan Bosch"...I think hanging in Cuba messed up his mind, he became un 'Paquetero" like the Cubans. This ain't Cuba; In Cuba people fall for talk;

Regardless of what ever reforms that Juan Bosch wanted to do, it was decided by Dominicans for Dominicans in the Dominican Republic. To agree with what the Americans did would to agree with the murder of thousands of Dominicans in the war of April 1965. With the murders committed during the reign of the puppet Balaguer.
Too agree with these atrocities the United States has bestowed upon the Dominican Republic and it’s population is to agree with the era of Trujillo.

Not it is not, Bernies must not be Dominican. This is false you can no longer pull the wool over peoples eyes.
This is false on so many scales; Juan Bosch was a democratically elected president choosen by the Dominican Public. But then again Dominicans can not do anything they want unless the United States wants it. Trujillo was trained and installed as a strong man by the United States converting DR into a Banana Republic. And when we choose finally had democracy the United States took it away. A country that claims democracy!!!!!

I remember him most for his academic proficiency, the man was a great scholar and his books are known worldwide. I have a question about him; I remember in one election year he sat on the same table with Balaguer to sign some kind of alliance between PRSC & PLD? I can’t remember who was the PRD candidate or the political environment in D.R at that time. All I remember my Viejo a long time PRD member and founder he said Juan Bosch sold himself out.
If somebody can recommend a book or a webpage with this piece of Dominican history
I will appreciated.
