Santo Domingo.- The effects of Tropical Storm Hanna forced aviation authorities to cancel three flights from New York, Miami and San Juan Puerto Rico and local flights from Santo Domingo to Portillo, in Samana.

The Dominican Airports (Aerodom) PR Yolanda Mañán said American Airlines flights 1529 from New York and 1711 from Miami were canceled because of bad weather conditions caused by Hanna.

According to Mañan, the flight Santo Domingo - Aguadilla (Puerto Rico), by the Dominican airline Power, was canceled this morning, as well as Aerodomca´s flight to Portillo, Samana.

Flights to New York, New Jersey and other US states were delayed today, she added.

I would hazzard a guess that seeing that all other flights arrived...it was more due to flight load than weather related...but the weather is always a good excuse!
