SANTO DOMINGO.- Metropolitan Transit Authority (AMET) director Rafael Bencosme Candelier won’t be able to enter United states territory, because that country has canceled his visa, newspaper Listin reports, quoting a source.

The Police’s former top investigator immediately said he doesn’t know the reason why the U.S. took the measure.

A SIN television station newscast divulged the information, which affirmed that although the U.S. embassy didn’t state the causes for canceling the visa, said the reason for any person being affected by a measure of that nature is specified in section 2-12 A of the United States Naturalization and Immigration Law.

That norm includes the trafficking of controlled substances, suspicion of criminal actions, money laundering, and extrajudicial actions including torture and executions.

Three sources, according to the news program, confirmed the veracity of the cancellation of major general Bencosme’s visa.

It is U.S. government norm to present a letter to those affected with that type of measure, containing the reasons why their visa is cancelled, nevertheless Bencosme said he didn’t know about the information.

Perception, all of the above (and then some). Remember, this guy is/was one of the TOP COPS of the RD. Consequently, it is just another example of RD Gov officials engaged in illegal activities possibly his can not be proven (or there may be an international arrest warrant issued later).

This is just another example of many how the RD Gov officials "Play the game" and talk with 2 faces out of both sides of their mouth in the drug war as an instance.

Do you guys think that after Paulino's arrest in 2004 that there were a dozen RD military officials ready to fill the void?

While DEA & US Embassy anti-narcotics agents are still basking in the 2004 victory. There is a whole new team of drug lords who have the protection of the RD military, police & RD Gov.

The poor people in my Santiago barrio of Ensanche Caonabo (Los Platanitos) must pay a bribe just to get police services and they will not go up against local Tigueres who are wholesalers of drugs.

No new news here

GC, rubber hosing someone is NOT grounds for revoking a visa. How can the US stand legally on this position when we have reserved the right to torture alleged Terrorist. This is (torture) a necessary evil that the USA needs and others to level the playing field. We often seen DNCD suspects with the photo with a bruised eye as they have capture criminals per the arrest warrant of the US DEA. (so torture or no torture is a non issue).

A real story about a thief waiting for his mandatory "massage" at the police station.
Thief hears many screams and cries and is getting worried, the officer in charge comes to him and shows him 2 clubs one is bigger than the other and says:
which of these clubs you want me to use on you to beat you up?
He answers: No one!
Officer then says: Ok sargent get "no one" and they fetch a huge black club the biggest one of them all
with the name "no one" written across and start to beat him non stop with it as he requested it.
Real story happened at the Parque Enriquillo police station.

Is a sad day in this country ware another high-ranking official is accuse of possible illegal acts. The only one that can end this practice is the President, by selecting staffs that have the capacity and high moral standers to perform there assigned job, but most importance of all to put the country and its citizens first. However, these wells never happen with this president or future one.
