The Spanish version of "CHASING RUBI: The Truth About Porfirio Rubirosa The Last Playboy" biography, documents the romance betwen Eartha Kitt and Dominican-Playboy-Diplomat-spy, Porfirio Rubirosa.

Los Angeles, (PRWEB). - Hollywood's loss of Emmy Award winning actress, singer and dancer, Eartha Kitt, marks the end of an era: when romance was celebrated with style. "I used to get furs and diamonds from men, and they'd open doors for me, lay out the red carpet," she said in the 2006 New York Times interview included in the new Spanish version of "CHASING RUBI: The Truth About Porfirio Rubirosa The Last Playboy", due to be released in February of 2009.

CHASING RUBI: The Truth About Porfirio Rubirosa The Last Playboy", is the first english biography written and publised in 2005 about the notorious Latin Lover and suspeced spy and assassin.

Dubbed the "most exciting woman in the world" by Orson Wells, Eartha Kitt was a self proclaimed "Sex Kitten" whose sultry voice and cat-like purr made her the best of the Catwomen. In the 50s Eartha found herself under the spell of Playboy Diplomat and "International Man of Mystery" Porfirio Rubirosa.

In her autobiography, "I'm still here - Confessions of a sex kitten", she talks abut her first date with Rubirosa: "Handsome? God, was he handsome! I never had the slightest idea he would actually take me out on the town until a note came to my dressing room while in tour dancing in Paris - 'I will pick you up tomorrow night after the show for dinner at Maxim's,' signed 'Rubirosa'. The phone rang the next morning: 'I am calling on behalf of Ambassador Rubirosa,' the male voice said. 'He is confirming his request for dinner at Maxim's tonight. Will that be all right?'"

"'Oh...uh...I have nothing to wear, 'l called out. 'No matter, Mr. Rubirosa has given me instructions to take you wherever you want to go shopping for anything you want - at his expense of course.'… I felt like the heroine of a romantic novel - On our entrance into Maxim's, the violin quartet violined us to a table with orchids, Dom Perignon champagne and Beluga caviar displayed on ice. A box wrapped in blue paper tied with a blue ribbon and a silk rose attached was on the silver plate in front of where I was beckoned to sit. Rubirosa held the chair back as I placed myself very lady-like in place. Aren't you going to open your present?' asked Rubirosa. When I got the box open with all eyes staring at me, the most beautiful string of pearls appeared before me. Simple, chic luxury. My first string of real pearls. I giggled, putting my hands over my mouth to calm my joy."

Eartha Kitt knew she was dating Porfirio Rubirosa the Dominican diplomat, champion polo player and race car driver, best known for his jet setting lifestyle and legendary prowess with women. Rubirosa counted among his wives and lovers Barbara Hutton, Doris Duke, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Eva Peron, Joan Crawford, Marilyn Monroe, Veronica Lake and Patricia Kennedy, among many others. What Eartha Kitt, did not know is that she was dating a potential spy. Also known as Rubi, he first came to the FBI's attention when he was forced to sign a pre-nuptial agreement by the US State Department, prior to the ceremony to wed American million heiresses Doris Duke, due to his involvement with Latin dictator Trujillo. In his heyday, Rubirosa hung out with the likes of Frank Sinatra, John F. Kennedy and the who's who of International Society.

Authors Isabella and Marty Wall, noted Eartha Kitt in their book CHASING RUBI, describing an evening with Rubirosa: "To me this was all a dream, a Hollywood I had missed when I was in Hollywood. Rubirosa was Cary Grant, Errol Flynn, Charles Boyer, Burt Lancaster and Tyrone Power all in one, and I was out on the town with all of them."

Chasing Rubi, the movie, which will reveal interesting new facts about Rubirosa's romances, is in pre-production in Los Angeles and the Dominican Republic. http://www.ChasingRubi.com

I hope the movie does due tribute and pays long needed homage to Porfirio Rubirosa, a Dominican
icon and global legend.
In Italy they still call the giant wood pepper dispensers in restaurants "Rubirosa" in reference to
his sexual largeness.
Rubi was a controversial figure and had many detractors as well. But those who knew him intimately can attest of his human qualities as a generous larger than life person, charitable and with a big heart.
Above all even though he had a close and sometimes turbulent relationship with
his benefactor Trujillo and his son Ramfis, he was a patriotic and loyal to his country Dominican man.

You are a historian now, you sorry and despicable troll as you were correctly baptized and former shadow of a man.
Go back to Canada, Cuba or wherever else they might allow you in, your despicable comments already contributed to bringing out of the closet hard and long forgotten sad but true facts that helped
stain the reputation of two innocent bystanders with your foul mouth and slander.
May God forgive you, we shall pray for your lost and sorry soul.

I understand but to me Julie Newmar was just the better Catwoman. Any red blooded man wouldn't have even noticed Kitt had she been standing by Newmar when they were both in their prime.

Those who knew Porfirio Rubirosa in person can attest of his larger than life social skills and grace,
polished by his previous background as son of the DR ambassador to Paris, living and going to school in Paris and being proficient in the language of "amour" and then as a military man in the presidential guard who rose under Trujillo.
Rubi was more than a diplomat and playboy, he was a great negotiator and snake charmer. When Trujillo called him very upset to the palace after his first wife Flor de Oro Trujillo complained to daddy Trujillo that he beat her up badly, he responded in a defiant manner to "El Jefe" saying:
"I beat her up jefe because she disrespected me and deserved it" which won the admiration of Trujillo and he was not punished for his trespass.
Rubi had education and lots of class, and was a big macho man. His generosity was legendary. A story was he was dead broke in a Paris cafe sipping water and a coffee for hours waiting for a rich "prey" he gave his last $10

dollars to a french waiter as a tip, who later introduced him to a wealthy socialite.
It is documented his hunger for money extracting large sums from Jewish refugees in Europe wanting to travel and exit Nazi persecution, and acting as a double agent for dictator Trujillo who he was always loyal to.
When Trujillo was assassinated he was on the plane that was charted by his son Ramfis that landed in San Isidro air force base not knowing what kind of welcome they would receive, if with flowers or bullets. So the guy had a lot of "cojones" as well.
In his later life he was involved in failed treasure finding explorations in Samana and the Banco de Plata that almost bankrupted him.
At the end it is said that he was living a family life and bored existence and was almost out of money when under the influence of liquor he rammed his Ferrari into a tree and the legend vanished forever.

Jesus forgave the good thief after he repented. This "person" has not repented, furthermore he
is not a thief, he specializes in character assassination.
Unless I read apologies I pass, there should be no peace for those wicked enough to have earned through their irresponsible actions a one way ticket to hell.
