SANTO DOMINGO.- Hundreds of drivers on Tuesday said Transit Reform Office (Opret) director Diandino Peña would be responsible for the regrettable confrontations that could occur on the Metro’s feeders routes, when it begins operations on Thursday.
Oscar de Jesus Francisco and Fermín Lopez, president and vice president of the union Fentrauni, said Peña ignores, excludes and imposes his will over drivers who’ve provided service to the public for more than 30 years in the Metro’s feeder routes.
“Diandino Peña must think well about what he’s going to do, and before putting the buses for the feeder routes in operation he must first meet with the affected drivers to seek solution in this conflict and we warn it will cause unpredictable and regrettable actions, at which we don’t want to arrive.”
Francisco and Lopez noted that they have staged marches, pickets and vigils aimed at getting the Opret director to meet with the leaders of the major bus unions, to find a solution for the drivers who’ll be displaced by the Metro, but always ignores them.
On Peña’s affirmations that the Government will manage the buses for the feeder routes because the public transport vehicles aren’t in conditions to do so, they warned the Opret chief to avoid colliding with the drivers and insisted on meeting with him.
“The Government handles a plan against Fentrauni affiliates and other passenger transport organizations, and Opret just ordered the Metropolitan Transit Authority agents to detain the vehicles that don’t have the registry seal on their doors,” the said.
They said Peña is “insensible, discourteous and arrogant, for having refused to sit down to have a discussion with the transporters who’ll be affected by the Metro’s start of operations, without taking into account the years of work on these feeder routes.”

Dominicans talk about being a 1st world country and they did build a 1st world country subway system. But if they let these thugs, gangsters and hoodlums jeopardize security on the subway, Dominicans will always be a 3rd world class of people.
Stop this rhetoric now.
gouletcolonial, YES... kill the will to resist. Then work out details.

And be done with it once and for all.
Correcto!
Maybe we can play Wagner's Die Valkure at the same time as accompaniment.
Tan tan tan tan that tan tan tha tha that than tha tha tha that.
Do you own any Brown-Shirts?
The way things are going with the world no doubt another illustrious leader will emerge to steer us
to nirvana. But first things will get like the movie "Mad Max" so save your shotgun shells.
The Haitian third column is already present in the DR and we have been invaded by two million illegal Haitians. That is 20% of our population.
Unless something is done now to start sending those Haitians back, tomorrow might be too late.
I subscribe to that!
Spain will be happy to regain DR back and occupy that portion of the island forever. The presence of the Haitians in DR is a good thing. That scares the Spanish away because they remember that Haitians don't play. They remember that they suffer humiliating defeats in the hands of the Haitians.
DR should see the Haitians in a positive ligtht instead of the other way around.
Just a wise advice.
a wise advice will be for you to stop smoking ganja mon!!!
the only reason the spanish are afraid of haitians is because they recognized plagas when they see one.
NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!

You waffling lefty.
Convert the terrorist bus drivers and concho mafiosi into chicharrones please!
At least we can feed them to the Haitians afterwards.
I hope my spelling pleases "duane" from the Brit spelling police.....
Let the stuck up Brit "duane" with condescending attitude deal with us Caribbean "vulgarians", Oh my duane, you are soooooo superior!
1. stuck-up - (used colloquially) overly conceited or arrogant; "a snotty little scion of a degenerate family"-Laurent Le Sage; "they're snobs--stuck-up and uppity and persnickety"
Winter will in time be past.
One day we shall cry rejoicing,
Homeland dear, you're mine at last.
Then we'll march as peatbog soldiers
No more with our spades
To the moor.
Peatbog workers song....... The government can find some nice jobs for the people displaced by the Metro! Perhaps a new state Tour company.

Its important you spell correctly Josean, as its how we'll find out who the imposters are.
Surely you know about Perejil?
Generoso - get your act together, I can't stand posters like you, that just take wild stabs in the dark.
When did I say 'Vulgar' - I married a Dominican. Just because I think those wankers that try to hold the country to ransom when things don't go their own way, deserve a good slapping down - does not mean I think all people living in the Caribbean are vulgar. Your sweeping statements are something even our own Prince Philip would be in awe of.
Well I am glad I hit home where it hurts. Was getting tired of your "superior" attitude.
No wonder the Brits got thrown out of all their colonies!
Now that you have descended to our level maybe we can "parlay" in a more even way.
Did I make any spelling mistakes?
Oh BTW give my condolences to your saintly Dominican wife, and one last thing, GET SOME SUN!
I am sure you did, looking at those British hags. When was the last time the CiviliZed Brits had a Miss Universe?
NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!
I guess they got tired of your venomous remarks and your constant and repetitious nagging and complaining.
BTW are you by any chance an old fart with a young Dominican wife? I thought so.
You love civil unrest in DR don't you?
Is the real cause is that you are Haitian or are a Hateiam and you jealous of Dominicans and really despise us?
Yes my wife is younger than me, by a year. So yes you thought, but as normal you thought wrong.

Hey Josie,
Nobody is taking away your freedom of speech. You can blather on all you want.
I know it is a concept hard for you to grasp but this website is a PRIVATE ENTITY. They do not have any obligation to allow you or anyone else a forum to say whatever you want.
I was accused of being an 'abuser' and yet I got censored. What absolute twaddle.
Welcome to the real world!
Like a typical gusanito republicano you distort the truth. I was responding to Dunae's post but you left out he was the author to suit your purpose.
Don't ya just hate me. I am the guy who proves time and again how wrong you are.
I don't hate anyone but with you I could make an exception!
