SANTO DOMINGO.- Ruling PLD party assembly member Isabel Bonilla on Thursday slammed her colleagues for in her view deserving their constituents’ rebuke, by changing the constitutional reform in a second reading, ignoring the legislation previously approved.

The Maria Trinidad Sanchez (northeast) deputy said the lawmakers are behaving like sheep by towing the lines dictated by the PLD and PRD parties.

“It seems they’ve placed a tape on their head which says thinking is prohibited,” she said, adding that the parties want their legislators to be as stupid as possible, because they accept all that’s imposed without dissent.

Bonilla, who revealed her decision not to run for any post in the next elections, said she’ll accept any disciplinary action for her posture, but cautioned that it wouldn’t keep her from saying what she feels, admitting a “rebellious nature.”

She regretted her colleagues’ approval of change in the way to select the Accounts Chamber, career prosecutors of the Justice Ministry, the denial of collective rights such as the free access to beaches and other natural areas, and revealed that she even thought of abandoning the Assembly.

If you have nothing to hide and have done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear from people and the press looking into your affairs. If you dont like it dont be a politician. Its part of the job. If your crooked thank god these people and the press can at least publish your crimes so others can know. We need to fix our corruption problems before anything else is going to work in our country. This is the most important thing that can bring us past being a 3rd world country and having people call us an island of savages.

The CACA continues to hit the proverbial fan:
