Santo Domingo.- National Drugs Council (CND) president Mabel Feliz yesterday requested a probe of the candidates to congressional and municipal posts, to establish the origin of the money used in their political campaigns.
The official made the statement after Ethics Commission president Marino Vinicio Castillo on Wednesday warned the political parties against allowing the registration of those candidacies.
The official said she’ll ask the presidents of the Senate Reinaldo Pared, and of the Chamber of deputies Julio Cesar Valentin, to investigate the candidates, so they justify the origin of their campaign funds.
Féliz, speaking yesterday in the seminar “Training, Integral Prevention and treatment of Addictions,” said however that she doesn’t have specific information on the candidates who allegedly using money from drug trafficking. “As to which of those candidates who are getting money from drug trafficking, the agency I preside not hasn’t been informed of a certain candidate involved in those activities.”

They are extraditing official and many army people to face charge in US court. I think we can agree the DEA in DR had been doing decent job. What more can they do?
You wrote: "Would it be easier just to identify the three maybe four who are not connect to drug money?"
Great point, except four might be too many.
Please accept my apologies for my exuberance and unfounded optimism!
Follow the money. And put them in jail.
Vincho Castillo dice que el 30% de los candidatos estarían vinculados al narcotráfico
