SANTO DOMINGO.- The Presidency’s Adviser on drugs on Sunday warned that in the next elections more than 60 legislators and a considerable number mayors and city council members linked to drug trafficking could result elected, and denounced that during the construction of the Northwest Line aqueduct the country bought at port one same tube from the same company for 210 and 350 dollars.

Marino Vinicio Castillo said that if the Central Electoral Board and the political parties don’t reach an agreement to evaluate those who seek electoral posts and candidates to prevent links to narcotics, the country would be exposed to a tragedy.

Interviewed by Geraldino González on Telemicro Channel 5, Castillo, who’s also head of the Ethics Commission, affirmed that he has information that of the people who seek congressional and municipal posts, more than 30 percent are linked to narcotics trafficking.

Come on morons. Follow the money.

How tough of a mental exercise is this for Dominicans?

Oh, I forgot child rape and corruption is considered a badge of honor and machismo.

Like everywhere else now (US included), it's too late. They have reached critical mass. All that will happen is they'll all pass their pee tests and carry on at greater speed and volume.

Yes! And PROVE it! This all maybe true, but also may be a lesson from the US "political playbook". It all may just be BS from the ruling party! Attack and discredit the opposition!

This men sure likes to make accusations but does not have the guts to named those he accuses. He does not regconizes that to receieved a salary from the government by lying is the same as stealing. He is in charge of Ethics and Morals, but he should be place under investigations as to whom he represents apart from himself. He surely does not represent the Dominican Population in D.R. or outised of D.R.

Flash !!!!!!!!! Breaking News!!!!!!!!!

This is the type of bombshell that could bring down a government!

Using Micaela's logic of its every Dominicans responsibility to report criminal activity: then what is the responsibility of the government when one of its highest ranking officials claims everybody knows who the narco-traffickers are in the country?

Does it means at best the government knows who they are and chooses to look away or worst this is a narco-state?

I wonder what the US goverment and the DEA reaction will be.

That is the Secretary of State making that comment. Could you imagine if his counterpart in the US made such a statement.

These two comments go with the article, very interesting!

Jose-Gonzalez

If Hillary Clinton made such a statement she would be required to testify before the US senate tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM and resign by noon!
