Santo Domingo.- National Assembly will review the final text of the Reformed Constitution, of 277 articles, 19 of which are general and transitory dispositions and a Preamble, in a session slated for 3 p.m.

Revisory Assembly president Reinaldo Pared said the text will be based on the reports by the Verification, Audit and Style commissions and noted that the lawmakers will not be able to add anything new to the corrected text.

The new Constitution will be proclaimed on December 10, International Day of Human Rights, during a ceremony headed by president Leonel Fernandez.

A new Constitution. Just in time for the PRD to come into power and change it again and make it the Old Constitution. What does it say about our country that we have a need to constantly change our Constitution?

It says it mimicks the USA. Two birds flock together. Two peas in a pod. A moment of silence is in order for the D.R.

Actually the US constitution is very good (read it), IF the elected officials abide by it's oath...which most of them don't...which makes it worthless. WE The People! Used to be that way anyway.
Anyone know the procedure of ratifying the DR Constitution? (Opps...I should know that). Is it voted on by the people? Whats the process?

Botemon, you are correct again. The Constitution is good and yes it is being ignored to the fullest extent by circumcision :) (circumvention) by unelected officials. It appears the DR is accomplishing the same thing where the people (citizens) lose just like the Americans lose.
