Santo Domingo.- The judges of a National District court on Thursday upheld a lower court ruling which sent Manuel E. Mesa Beltre (El Gringo) to prison, on money laundering and drug trafficking charges.
Court of Appeals presiding judge Ulises Bonnelly rejected the motion by Mesa’s lawyers for release on bail, basing his decision on the defendant’s lack of sufficient roots to remain in the country, and on the evidence filed by the Justice Ministry.
A Drugs Control Agency report affirms that traces of drugs were found in Mesa’s vehicle, which shows his link to the criminal activity.

My comment is based on my personal observations of, "HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS". Nothing personal.
Money laundering and drug dealing are criminal acts in DR? I didn't know that!
Now I understand why Sobeida went into hiding. I still don't understand why there are so many military officers and policemen still free, and many politicians as well, however.
el gringo is not lucky because his lawyer get el gringo's bail out decision from judge "after" the escape of the puerto rican woman.,
may be his lawyer did not give enough money to lubricate this cas.
