Santo Domingo. - The Dominican Network for Women’s Health (REDSAM) will demand that the Justice Ministry and the opposition PRD party file charges and penalize the deputy Julio Romero and the candidate to deputy Ramon (Papo) Fernandez, both of the political organization.

Romero recently recognized that he’s the father of a boy born to Yuilmi Peguero, conceived when she was only 16 years old. They are both currently negotiating child support payment.

Whereas Fernandez, accused of the rape of a 14 year old minor who is now 17, was acquitted in a Santiago Rodriguez province (northwest) court.

The non-government organization announced it will present the details of its judicial demand on Tuesday.

Romero and Fernandez, who’ve registered their names for a spot on as the deputy ballot as candidates of the PRD in Santiago Rodriguez, have been at the center of the media for the scandals in the last few weeks.

What dirt bags! They are the bottom of cesspool, sum total of everything we dislike about our country's political system.

These men should both be subjected to Singaporean and Arab laws and be publicly lashed, then banished from politics and anything decent. All of their ill-gotten gains should be confiscated and returned to the treasury, then they should be thrown in "La Victoria".

I know many of you like to pound your chests and state how proud you are to be Dominican, but how can you really be proud of anything, especially when all news coming from DR screams of decay of integrity and the disappearance of anything treasured or meaningful or decent? I suppose that's a hallow and false sense of pride. Let's endeavor to work for change and to bring back the decency and pride of our parents and grandparents, then we'll have something to crow about, and it will be well-founded.
