Santo Domingo.- Armed Forces minister Pedro Rafael Peña announced that several Dominican pilots will fly to Brazil next week to bring the first two of the nine Super Tucanos airplanes the country acquired to intercept drug trafficking flights.

The planes’ manufacturer Embraer, communicated to the authorities that it had concluded the flight trials on the two A-29 Super Tucanos.

Peña also announced that they complete the details for the tenders to purchase a 3D military radar system and a command and control center, as part of what the official called the “offensive” against international drug trafficking.

Gee, now all they need are two pilots capable of flying them....my bet is the "Super Highly Intelligent Trained" Dominican pilots crash them before ever firing a shot.....

"hey" just maybe if they do happen to find two pilots to fly theses aircraft back to the the dr. u think its possible they might be able to also bring some drugs back with them to sell.

It won't be long & the CIA will be operating diesel powered submarines through the DR like they do outta Colombia. I wonder if they have a sub that can make the run from Afghanistan to the DR yet? Smokes & mirrors.

Viva, sometimes it is what it is. We know the U.S. government has been known to get it's hand dirty in the drug trade (for special ops slush funds). But you would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to know that they are a tiny percentage of the trafficking going on. Private enterprise in Colombia and Mexico came up with the submersible method oh moving large amounts of "product". Also you shouln't forget officials in the workers paradise of your namesake also dabble in this trade. Hard currency is needed from whatever method is available.

Let the Brazilian deliver the planes to DR, before you take possession of them, please.

It would be so sweet if, as part of delivery process, they were to intercept some Cessna laden with drugs and co-deliver. How sweet that would be and what a grand entrance!
