Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez yesterday proclaimed the need for dialogue and agreement to prevent violence and forge stronger families.

The Head of State sent a recorded message read in a rally hosted by the Office  the First Lady, during the global World March for Peace, a tour which began October 2  in New Zealand and conclude January 2 in the Los Andes Mountain Range.

The activity gathered hundreds of Dominicans in the Malecon of Santo Domingo.

“The violence as the counterpart for social peace is the pathology of the societies and when there’s a state of permanent violence the societies tend to disappear,” Fernandez said in the statement read in the event.

Performers including Manuel Jiménez, Milagros Hernández, Niní Cáffaro, Ileana Reynoso, Fernando Villalona and El Jeffrey headed a concert called “Voices for Peace.”

Maybe the Dominicans can help organize and lead the next world march against corruption, drug smuggling and irresponsible Parenting. Then go one step beyond by leading by example.
