Santo Domingo.- The doubts have apparently vanished as the investigation in the last few hours have shown that Sobeida Feliz left Dominican Republic on the 12th aboard an Air Europe flight to Madrid, according to at least two sources quoted by newspaper Nacional.

However Immigration director Sigfrido Pared insists that Feliz hasn’t left. The official attributed to “an intruder” who allegedly hacked the Agency’s computers, the inclusion of the name Sobeida Felix (Felix, with an x not the z written in the original affidavit), in the list o f passengers who left via the Las Americas airport Thursday the 12th.

A source affirmed that investigators reached the conclusion -after several meetings- that Feliz had left the country, and that even president Leonel Fernandez had been informed in that regard.

Immigration confirmed that in its outbound records the name Sobeida Felix Morel appears on a flight to Madrid, but not so her arrival at the Spanish capital. That leads the investigators to assume she could‘ve changed documents aboard the plane, something they say is done regularity by those who travel incognito.

Among the investigators’ hypotheses is that Feliz in fact managed to flee Dominican Republic, which may explain why the authorities have eased the pressure in the nationwide search in the last few days.

The fugitive had lived for several years in Switzerland, where two of her brothers still reside, and knows several countries and even speaks several languages.  She’s accused of money laundering and of belonging to the ring of narcotics traffickers headed by the also fugitive Puerto Rican Jose D. Figueroa Agosto.

During her arrest the keys to an SUV were seized, in which 4.6 million dollars in cash were found, as well as several watches worth millions of pesos, and two apartments worth around 42 million pesos, all confiscated.

National District Judge Roxanna Vásquez had varied the arraignment ruling of temporary incarceration to release Felix on bail, and her whereabouts aren’t known since October 30.
