Santo Domingo. – The journalist Nuria Piera condemned Monday night’s aggression against her associate Franklin Guerrero and said the attack shows the little security under which the Dominican media do its work.

“As you nay understand I don’t accept it, it’s part of the lack of vigilance and security the journalist has when they to their work. Now I hear that the prosecutor is going to place safety measures because no one was there defend him then and he had to put up with being beaten up and is camera being taken from him,” she said.

She questioned that the incident took place in the National District Office of the Prosecutor, where she affirms reporters didn’t find any police security, as if it was a public park.

In addition to Guerrero the journalist Máximo Polanco was also attacked when they covered the arraignment of the convicted drug trafficker Manuel Emilio Mesa, (El Gringo), arrested with 4.3 million pesos in a SUV.

LIE-onel Fernandez has set the example to the public that the media is not to be respected.

From his refusal to investigate the disappearance of Narciso Gonzalez after three terms in office and the arrest of journalist at on of his recent “Dog and Pony Shows.”

So everybody now thinks its open season on journalist and can get away with anything!

If you were to put all these sotries together, the only logical conclusion you could converge to would be that the country has gone to the dogs.

With political, judicial and civilian infrastructure corrupt and in chaos, I just cannot see how things could be righted without some kind of a revolution. That is just how I see it, but maybe I am being overly pessimistic.

Borrowing a term from Josean.........: "we are a failed state".

One thing for sure, with things being as bad as they are, especially drungs and crime, I am not returning to DR any time soon. Furthermore, pretty soon we will be ashamed to say we are Dominican, if things don't change for the better.

Sajo,

I find Nuria's picture to convey softness and femininity and I find her rather sexy. It would be sad if she really dislikes men-as you purport.
