Domingo.– Sobeida Felix Morel, implicated in the confiscation of US$4.6
million seized in a SUV in the case of the Puerto Rican fugitive José Figueroa
Agosto, was declared fugitive for not showing up Tuesday at the National
District Office of the Prosecutor to sign the registry as her bail conditions
state for which the authorities investigate if she has fled the country.
According to sources from the Office of the Prosecutor, District Attorney for the National District Alejandro Moscoso Segarra warned that if she does not show up in court by next
Tuesday, she will go to prison.
Law enforcement agencies began a search for Feliz , whom the National
District 7th Instruction Court judge released on bail, whereas 3rd
Appellate Court president Ignacio Camacho designated a judge to hear
the appeal of the ruling filed by the prosecutors.
On the 15 October, the judge of the
Seventh Court of Instruction, Rosanna Vasquez, allowed Felix to go free
on a RD$5,000,000 bail bond, imposing travel impediments and ordering
periodic presence at court.

I just don't get Dominican justice!
This individual gets caught with large sum of money and was accomplice to illicit activities. She evaded paying taxes; she aided and abetted justice by harboring an international fugitive. She was released from jail because she was considered harmless and a good girl. She failed to show up for a mandated hearing and disappeared. Now, we are told that if she fails to show up for another hearing next week they will jail her! Is there any end to this circus? She must be jailed whether she shows up or not, and she should never have been set free to begin with.
BTW, jail the presiding judge and all who influenced him as well.

The Judge is probably at least RD$5,000,000 better of and should be the subject of a full investigation along with all those who said what a good girl she was. No doubt they got paid as well!

This woman applied for bail and was granted bail by the court which is a normal procedure and the appeal from the police was dismissed so she had everyright to not be in jail. She has now broken the bail conditions and in a rather strange twist of words ,if she does not show up in court by Tuesday ,she will go to prison...little hard to see how she will go there if she can not be found.
I think that the only legitimate concern could be that the bail was not set at a high enough level,but as was pointed out ,it is possible she has been silenced for ever but I wonder if that is likely asI doubt if Agosto is in the DR.
It was suggested in an earlier article that he had probably left on a yacht

The judge that granted her bail, should be cane whipped in public, ripped of her title and license and then tossed into jail. For being an imbecil and a negligent dumb ass. Things like this and the sentencing of that psychotic killer that killed Micky Breton make me sick to my stomach. That crazy ass sociopath only got, a one tear sentence for the horrific murder of another person. These people are literally getting away with murder. I guess Dominican justice really is blind or it continues to get bought. When will Dominican justice do right and keep the best interest of it's citizens the main priority? I just don't get it. This is a sad and often too repetitive situation.

This case just comes to show why we should be more selective as to which cases are handled by Official Judges and those so call Jueces Interinos. This is just one case that's has gotten the attention it deserves but the major problem is having this kind of temporary judges in cases so sensitive to the public. We should make changes to this practices because lawyers in DR have found this major loop hole and are using it to their advantage and the temp judges since they are not well known to the public since they are not "officially" part of the team. take advantage of the bribe money provided by these delinquents who are getting away. DNCD/PND have improved on their side of things now is time for the supreme court to keep their promise to improve the justice department because if is not done quickly it will make DNCD/PND think that is not worth catching these folks if they just going to get released back to the streets. This lady should have never been granted a bail to begin with.
