Santo Domingo.- Dominican Today has received a urgent call by the relatives and friends of D'Arcy Wright to help find him.

Wright, a Canadian living in Sosua on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, has been missing since the afternoon of Wednesday 9th December 2009, two DT readers said in an email.

“If anyone has seen him, please contact the group's administrators or Marco at Rocky's Bar, Sosua,” the readers said. Further information as it becomes available.

My prayers are with him and his family/friends. I have followed this event via another site (DR1), and it appears that D'Arcy has vanished without a trace. Investigations should look into past business deals (Canada & DR), any and all girlfriends or potential gfs (jealous husband/boyfriend), and a complete review of all his DR1 forum postings (for further clues). This is a very strange dissappearance indeed (no ransom-no kidnapping). Did he have any enemies in Canada?

Again, I hope he is found unhurt and very soon. I continue to pray for his safe return.

Island so small but exceptionally large when you have unprofessionals involved in a search of this significance. F.B.I. Interpol, DEA , Need take over and assist with the on going process. Help with knowledge and educate the D.R. investigaters with tools oppose to bribes. Economically bad now here robbery more than the motive for this dissapearance. My hearts go out to this gentlemans family. This reminder Ill pay more attention when I am Outside from now on. Life too precious and if I have learned something living over her for past 6 years is the Dominican Tigre could care less about a life and Only think of today never tomorrow.

I hope Blutarsky had nothing to do with his disappearance, since rumors are that they might have been partying together in Rocky's bar in Sosua. LOL.
Blu: Spill the beans!
Seriously, I do hope he shows up in good health, and in one piece.

Now, how do we get this into the spanish dailies? They don't seem to be receptive to suggestions of posting it in their pages.

I hope he is found soon and in good health. This must be the most horrible feeling a family can experiance, the missing of loved one with no where to look or information to follow.

My heart goes out to them!

Iceberg,

The Island may be small compared to large countries of the continent, but it is a very large Island indeed. (Size of Vermont and New Hampshire put together for the DR Side, and Size of Maryland for Haiti... thats a lot of land).

Remember the girl from Georgia the disappeared in Aruba? Her body NEVER found. And Aruba is just a speck compared to the DR. When there is fowl play, it will be tough to find a person, and the DR has zillion of places where people or bodies could be hidden and without the cooperation of the community that may have spotted him somewhere, it will be tough for authorities no matter how advanced their systems are, to find the person

Very little info on this case has been published and it has had virtually "no media coverage" in the DR National Press. Now it is the sixth day since this man has vanished, things do not look good. I hope and pray I am wrong, Something is not quite right with this story. It appears the DR authorities are keeping this one totally under wraps for unknown reasons. Why?
