Santo Domingo.– The National Police and the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) questioned Tactical Response Unit (URT) chief Lieutenant Colonel Florencio Elvis Soriano Familia after an alleged phone call by fugitive Jose Figueroa Agosto to Z-101 FM radio.

The alleged Figueroa Agosto revealed he reportedly paid late Jose Amado Gonzalez Gonzalez –a former friend of his– one million dollars on September 3 to bribe Colonel Soriano Familia and he National Drugs Control Agency's head of operations, Colonel Miguel A. Sanchez Diaz.

Figueroa Agosto also denied any link with Mary Pelaez and said fugitive Sobeida Felix Morel is not with him.

Both the Republic Attorney General and the DNCD verified the call authenticity.

this is becoming a joke, there is no authority here. like i said this is an internal war on who controls the drugs coming into the country. all are suspect, including the the big chief, since he has not commented on this event. i say let them kill each other and when the dust settles we the people will have enough sense to vote some real leaders into power.

oy, I don't doubt that these yahoos are all involved, but taking hints from unsubstantiated crank-calls is a bit much. Why not have a farensic accounting division look at the implicated parties' accounts and economic activity.

If these guys earn US$100K/ year, but last year bought a US$1mil villa, well, then that should be a good indicator that somethings up, no? my point is, do a little investigating.

- Smiling Faces Sometimes tell

THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The truth is in the eyes
Cause the eyes don't lie, amen
Remember a smile is just
A frown turned upside down
My friend let me tell you
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth,

I wonder what a "Cara de DELINCUENTE" is. Before the crash of his ponzi scheme, was madoff thought to have a "Cara de DELINCUENTE"?

or how about ken lay (enron), or the consultants of arthur andersen, or the heads of the three banks that stole soooo much money from the dominican people... did they have "Caras de DELINCUENTES"?

So please elaborate, what is a "Cara de DELINCUENTE"?

Don't pre-judge, b/c the people we think are angels (Tiger woods), turn out to be real vivos!

cara de delincuente 100 veces, it does not mean he is one, you're the one judging, I NEVER SAID he is a delincuente. Read, then judge the content of the sentence wisely.

Is tiger woods selling drugs and killing people?
To cheat on your wife does not make you a delincuente, but a cheater, which I THINK it's not right
specially when you're gonna lose about 400 million dollars.
THINK, JUST THINK.

He's laughing because he knows there is nothing they can do to him. In the worst case possible he loses his job or gets moved someplace else. Bottom line he has the money well hidden and nobody is even bothering to go after it. You would laugh too if you had a few million USD saved already. He was probably going to retire soon and live happily ever after anyhow.

Damn! Now I feel like he smacked me! That's why they ALL smile. Mary Pelaez has the smirk, Sobeida Feliz carries the smirk, when we saw her, I guess Gonzalez HAD the smirk before he was shot 13 times with an AK 47.

To the Americans here, don't you find it ODD that a man would escape a Federal Prison in Puerto Rico where he was serving 209 years for conspiracy, goes to live in DR, the US knows about it but doesn't have him extradited. This man dissappears days before the whole thing blows over and no one knows where he is. The social security number he gave out yesterday belongs to a Puerto Rican (check) born in 1977 (?). Who is this guy? How did he manage all this by himself? Am I being a conspiracy theorist or is the US running a covert operation?

That was a strange call yesterday, it was almost Bin Ladenish in nature. Make all Dominicans forget how terrible the country is doing. Make all public officials seem like their really doing their jobs or they're straight up crooks.

You can add these to the delicuentes list:
Anibelka Ramirez: US Tax Fraud, Food Stamp recipient, Medicaid recipient in NYS, Insurance Fraud, owns property in Dominican Republic, lives in a luxury condo. My ex's mother, who took me to the place where I foolishly invested my money, possibly running the scam ring with the people below.
Juan Ramirez: The Husband of the person mentioned above. I accuse of him of the same as his wife.
Luis Jose Saldaña Fortuna: Passes off as lawyer, swindler, construction fraud
Jacinto Jose Saldaña Fortuna: Passes of as construction Engineer, construction Fraud
Eddy Saldaña Fortuna:Lawyer, bank loan fraud, forgery, robbery
Lesbia Nereyda Castillo Pimentel: Government employee, forged signatures and docs. to obtain loans fraudulently. These loans may have been the loans used to build the building where I foolishly invested my money. This requires further investigation
Juan Manuel Sepulveda Guerrero: molested me when I was a child living in DR

I think it is indicative of how we've been taken in by delincuentes w/o caras de delincuentes... So just b/c you don't hear the waters, doesn't mean the river doesn't have any! And sometimes, even if you hear the waters, doesn't mean the river is dangerous.

Judging a book by its cover, w/o taking the time to read it and get to know it, is a trait of a simple mind.

so, here's to hoping you people w/ simple mind take the time to open a book and learning not to pre-judge or stereotype...

He's "DIRTY," all he need is the aviator sunglasses and the picture would be complete. Here's a riddle question: what's the difference between a Dominican Military Officer and the real sleazy type narcotrafficker? Nothing -- they're one in the same.

Finally the guarantee we have all been waiting for:

Read the commentaries so you get a feel for the sentiment of average Dominicans as opposed to the perky and bubbly veneer of Martha Stewart!
