SANTO DOMINGO.- The Drugs Control agency (DNCD) on Monday said it seized properties from the twins who reportedly head an international network which shipped cocaine hidden in tubers to Puerto Rico.
It said it raided a luxury apartment building in Bella Vista owned by the spouses Ramon Euclides Suazo and Rosanna Maria Gomez, owners of the company `La Española Products, S.A.', where it found, dollars, jewelry as well as Dominican and Colombian pesos, and seeks his twin brother Iván, suspected of being ring’s second in command in Puerto Rico.
Last week 132 kilos of cocaine were seized from Rivas and Gomez, the DNCD said, and that the spouses were declared fugitives.
In the building, on the street Gaspar Polanco no. 19, apartment 501, in the upscale sector Bella Vista, agents found seven cellphones, several keys to Daihatsu trucks, a Bersa 380 caliber pistol, several watches and jewelry.
DNCD president Rolando Rosado said so far six people were arrested in the case of the drug headed to Mayaguez, through Ferry, hidden in 500 boxes and 750 sacks of yautía and sweet potato, in the container seized after it was on a tractor trailer driven by Luis Sanchez Diaz, who was released on bail.
Also released on bond was Virgen Maria Anazagatis Marte, whereas the brothers Juan Osvaldo, Rafael, Ramon Eugenio and Andres Durán Quezada, all natives of the Central Mountain town Tireo, Constanza, are being held in the La Victoria Prison.

One might ask, "How come the bad guys always get away?"
From: Dominican Republic, vieja Santo Domingo
That, unfortunately,is what happens in the world of crime ..it is so hard to get the top guys who are well protected ..but all in all a good result here and there is more evidence that the authorities are acting rather than doing nothing in controlling drug crime

They should release these people who had not harmed anyone. The real criminals are the MAFIAGOVERNMENT. People in this forum are out of focus as to who and whom are doing the worst to humanity and getting away with it. At the end they even go out and vote for them. First it was liquor and tabacco that were traffic and which create a new gangster. They found a way to legalize it, tax it and so on. Today these two cigarrettes and liquor are the main causes of death but who cares when the concerned is " Cocaine " and other drugs which do not create the scales as the one mentioned above. Another problem is that government is also responsible for the creations of these so called drug traffickers and them goes after them -- their money, properties and their lives for imprisoment. The traffickers are not wise enough to realize how they are being influence and tricked into such a business.

I find it hard in this day an age for someone to suppose that the drugs trade is a victim-less crime. Well, I fully believe it is a violation of moral laws. People get killed, raped and maimed in the process of some useless wit trying to get rich.
Young people get hooked on the poison and either prostitute themselves, rob, kill and what not to support this habit.
I am so much against this illicit trade, that I would volunteer to personally pull the trigger on anyone corrupting our youths and future. I have no pity or tolerance for such slime...they are the scum of the earth and maybe hell is just too good a place for them.
I also suppose you lose our respect when you empathize with this slime.
These people represent the building blocks of a decaying society....they are the necessary catalysts for everything our forefathers passed on to us to collapse, disappear. They are just scum and don't stand for anything but their personal enrichment and crime.

There is a big picture and there is a small picture, like the father and the child but in the child there is more money them in the father. In this case the bigger picture is the father and the small picture is the child. The ills of society is the bigger picture, just one correpted politician can be the cause of the death of many innocent people. For example, just a simple road or the creation of a police station where theres a lot of violence and when funds are allocated for such purposes the officials in charge pocket the money. This example is an illustration of any programs that will benefit the greater majority. Better hospitals and better school. What are the things that are really affecting people both directly and indirectly causing more death and misseries than drug trafficking. So focus on drugs and blind yourself but at the same time go into any hospiltal and count the beds, how many are there due to illegal drugs. I will tell you this, if you get rid of the main two ---

causes and the corrupted politicians there will only be one hospital and a lot of doctors will not have jobs. There will be less police as well and less lawyers and judges. The authorities they created the problem of drug trafficking by raising the time they will give anyone who is caught. That raise the price of the drugs. Imagine yourself with no job and a family to feed and someone makes you an offer for some fast money, you say NO WAY. You keep on starving and your love ones two. This other person takes the chances that you refuse to take and makes that fast money, you know who they are cause they bying fancy cars and houses, you envy them. The authority chases them cause they dare to challenge them and in the process cause drug wars.

It is not that the TOP guys always get away...it is that they are drinking Jhonny Walker Blue with the top generals of the country....No wonder they never get cought. Politicians, Generals, Coronels, and the rest of the gang, control all of these scenarios.

DT's story last week:

Dominican agents seize 300 kilos of cocaine
Santo Domingo.– Dominican officers have seized 300 kilograms of cocaine hidden in crates of root vegetables that were going to be exported to Puerto Rico.
According to the National Drug Control agency, the drugs were found in a truck filled with yucca roots and sweet potatoes Saturday morning during a routine inspection outside Santo Domingo.
....Now.... Last week 132 kilos of cocaine were seized from Rivas and Gomez, the DNCD said, and that the spouses were declared fugitives.
....---....%%$$
From 300 to 132 kilos? Where's the other 168 K, or 397 lbs.?
Not only was a yuccacide prevented; They also managed to lose part of the shipment in the process.
Are the Keystone Cops traning the narcs down there?
Or, are they traning in Cali, Colombia?
