Santo Domingo.- President Leonel Fernandez on Tuesday called the online encyclopedia Wikipedia history’s most revolutionary instrument on human knowledge.
The Head of State, speaking in the Global Foundation, Democracy and Development conference “Wikipedia, Wikia and the Culture of Free Access to Knowledge" dictated by Jimmy Wales, creator of digital system, said the creation of the free software for the universality of knowledge, “is a mechanism of collaborators who act with an associative philosophy, and has generated the most revolutionary instrument on human knowledge in all historical time and I have the brain which conceived it at my side.”
Wikipedia creator Jimmy Wales said the online encyclopedia is an open source written in more than 100 languages with the feature to modify, copy and redistribute any article. He clarified that Wikipedia isn’t a data base, rather an encyclopedia that provides knowledge and has a network of 25 collaborators.

[edit] Is Wikipedia accurate and reliable?
Shortcut:
WP:SFAQ#ACCURATE
Wikipedia is a compendium of existing, published knowledge and is only as reliable as the external sources on which it relies. Fortunately, Wikipedia is very regular about citing its sources (far more regular than many other publications). If an article does not provide citations, then it may or may not be reliable and a reader should use their own judgment. Students should never use information in Wikipedia (or any other online encyclopedia)
I would rather hear him explain why the goverment budget for education is again less than 4%. This is important. Is Wikipedia really what this clown spends his time thinking about?
Canadian Judge gives 7 year old right to decide his own custody.
A 7 year old boy was at the center of a courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy had a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the family and learning that violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Toronto Maple Leafs whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
