NEW YORK.- The remains of Dominican-born soldier Alex Jimenez, kidnapped May, 12, 2007 in Iraq together with other comrades-in-arms, were buried as a hero in Virginia’s Arlington National Cemetery, resting place of many of the United States most honored military figures.
Present in Tuesday morning’s funeral with military honors were senior officials of the Defense Department and of Fort Drum, home to the 10th Mountain Infantry Division, to which Jiménez belonged.
Newspaper The Washington Post in yesterday’s edition said around 100 people were present in the ceremony, among military, civilians and Jimenez’s relatives.
The remains of Jimenez, 25, were found buried in a wooded zone in Baghdad after being executed by militiamen of the group “Iraq Islamic Republic”, a cell of Al Qaeda.

A special thanks to Senator Kerry for working on behalf of this soldier's wife who was being deported by Immigration because her husband could not finish her paper work (research the story on DT.com). The Immigration unit of DHS was unsympathetic to the fact that Jimenez was serving our country & became missing action & a prisoner of war (POW). They were UNSYMPATHETIC to Mrs. Jimenez until Senator Kerry intervened. This is an example of what Mrs. Obama was talking about during the campaign when she said "she had been ashamed of her country"
There's a common theme of incompetence which is another example that exists within some (not all) of our Gov units.
Similarly when good citizens from my Santiago barrio of ENSANCHE CAONABO gave information to anti-drug agencies on micro-trafficking (both US DEA & RD) nothing was ever done to stop it to this to date - many years later.
Thanks for your service.
Blue Skies
I'm having similar experiences with immigration and I inlisted the aid of Sen Clinton & Sen Schumer. Both offices were less than helpful. Both offices insisted that paying $1200 for a DNA test is "reasonable." So I have had a very different experience with elected officials.
The other lunacy has to do with being a civil "servant".... period. There is something about being one which makes you stupid, insensitive and incompetent. They are not apointed by the administration; they are hired via a system. Mrs Obama is NOT going to be any more proud of the civil servants hired under her husbands administration. (besides, only a little thought would make evident to the intellectually honest that that is NOT the subject of her ire)
The bureaucrat's goal is to keep his job, not help you.
The same idiots hired under Carter, Reagan, Clinton and Bush are there now. They get "stupider" with time. If you have any empathy or intellegence you arn't qualified for Civil Service.
I thank you for your service in a noble cause.
