The Police officers, both captains, are being held together with a Navy petty officer who had been assigned to the Narcotics section in Sosúa. The Police said their names won’t be released until the investigation concludes.

The fact that these individuals are under investigation shows that the system--although not perfect, it's working. I will continue the give the authorities in my beloved country the benefit of the doubt and let them do thier jobs...

if they wouldve paid the hush money to the right person, im pretty sure their illicit operations wouldve continued to remain in full effect.

They arrested and reassigned the whole police department in Sosua less than a year ago for the very same reasons.

This will never end until you cut of the head of this ugly beast. Imagine a lion without a head?

Escott, CESAR,
I desagree. The vast majority of the people in uniform in the DR are honorable, hardworking people who want the best for the country. We should try to help rathern than tear them down...

Wouldn't it be easier to say with the exception of 5 skinny AMET Transit Officers in El Soco, the whole freaking Public Saftey System in DR is under investigation?

I propose that, just as the US employs past software criminals to catch others, that we should pardon Chopo Pichardo and put him in charge of drug enforcement. Heck, this guy knows all the tricks and no one is going to pull a fast one over him. Besides, there would be nothing to lose as drug trade is rampant under present system and, taking pride in his new position, at least Chopo Pichardo would cut back his own business.
An added benefit would be helping our friend and fellow contributor JD_Dominguez and his relatives in Ensanche Caonabo get rid of this criminal. That alone would be worth the effort and risk!

Why is it the most Americans think all police
in the DR are corrupt?
The American police are probably just as corrupt!
Both forces could learn a bit from our RCMP.

Long live the Good Dominican!

They are not all bad. True, we have been & still are
being persecuted. I figured you would pick up on that
one just after I hit the "post" button.
Fortunately I have been one of the fortunate Metis.
I was adopted by a wonderful Scotch couple.
They instilled a proper work ethic in me I guess.

Have fun, live long & prosper!

You read news from DR? Probalby not and comics don't count.

Big difference between DR and USA is that in latter they are prosecuted and sent to jail. In DR they get promoted or a bigger cut and, if dismissed, they are not prosecuted.

Overall, a very bad comparison on your part. I know that you, like most of us, really love your country. However, lets be real!

Hey Glo!
This is a tough one.

Where shall I begin.....

Well, Yes. I read news from the RD.
Daily.
I go there once a month now for the past 2 years.
I haven't read a comic for 45-50 years.
I probably will marry my novia there.
Granted, I don't know everything, never will.
There is corruption in police everywhere.
Some more, some less.
FACT OF LIFE!
In the States, they are more sophisticated, of course.
In the RD, well, maybe in the future they will learn how
to hide it better like the FBI.
Yes. even in Canada, we have our problems.
Yes, we can be "real". We all have a problem!
Anyway, have fun & keep writing!
I'm waiting for Mar.1, then it's off to the RD for a MONTH THIS TIME!
