SANTO DOMINGO.- Two soldiers assigned to the Airport Security Corp’s (CESA) Canine Unit were arrested in the Las Americas Airport terminal with 27 packages of cocaine when they tried to place on a flight to Europe.
Investigators said Victor Alvarez Almonte and Santiago Torres were taken to the headquarters of the Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), after Armed Forces and Customs agents pursued them in the terminal’s ramp area, preventing the drug from being placed on the place bound for Madrid.
Upon being discovered, the CESA agents tried to flee but security agents prevented it by disarming the suspects in the ensuing struggle.
A source quoted by newspaper Diario Libre said there could be more military involved in a drug trafficking network that uses airports personnel to ship drugs to the United States and Europe.

The problem is "too far gone".
When you have MP(s) with K9 Drug Interdicting capabilities themselves shipping packages in plane (plain) sight; It's viral!
The problem has infected, or rather affected the whole apparatus.
What you need to do is replace the whole Armed Forces, and National Police;
Who will you recruit to fill the ranks? Check-mate!
Forget about Trains and Tourism.
The whole system is corrupt!

If it was a canine unit, then the dogs also have to be corrupt. I thought they were trained to detect drugs. This makes me so sad that even the drug dogs are corrupt. How low can it go?

i like what im seeing over the last few month. total cleanse is what we need that include the politician. i heard a story about in dr congress there was a sindico last name mariano i think who spoke about giving power after their term as the law stated and basically all the congressmen where booing him. they need to be probably not during this presidency but in the future for a internal police to check this politician crooks.

Recently there has been a lot of people getting busted for thier involvement in the illegal drug business. Whre are they putting them all? I understand that for years the prisons are way over full.
The govt. can create a local stimulas program by building enough prison cells for about 25% of the population. Thats a lot of jobs wright there. Maybe my guestimate is a bit low on the %.

one thing that they should do to help aliviate the problem first create a squad like internal affair. we well educated individuals with degrees and well paid. I mean well paid, in a way that they don't have to turn to corruption. Individual outside of any political, and military affiliation or involvement. Drug test and lie dectetor test ramdonly and periodically. Have that squad to track all police, gov. and military corruption of all kind. I think that would be a good step toward combating corruption. Also these squad should be secret, no information of their address etc. also have them also investeage themselves, so everyone would be in their p's and q's . hey i am just throwing things outthere maybe someone with power will pick that up.

And of course after we do fire them all, we pick the new guys from where "FRANCE". Hey the whole problem of lack of order in IRAQ was firing all the MILITARY and POLICE. Who not only knew where the dissidents were but all the criminals as well.
Gen PATTON'S answer to having former NAZI's help in run the country was. They were all NAZI'S till a year ago, and they are the ones that know how to run the trains.
So, re-educate and trim from the top. the ones at the bottom do what they had always done. The same thing the Majors and Colonels did 15-20 years ago.
Many departments have done it, NYPD, did it and it took 20 years to eradicate and reeducate, as you tighten the braces slowly, and the newer values and officer replace the old.
Nothing these Generals see happening, is new to them. It is Just new to us who suspected all along, or do you really think they were all good investor ad bussinesmen to get villas in Casa campo.
