SANTO DOMINGO.- Tirso Cuevas Nin, the driver of the truck with 1,387 kilos of cocaine seized from the ex Army captain Quirino Paulino, extradited in 2005, will be repatriated tomorrow from the United States, after a plea bargain to secure his release.
Cuevas is one the 82 Dominicans who’ll be repatriated tomorrow after having service time for convictions of drug trafficking, murder, sexual assault, fraud, forgery, kidnapping and rape.
His deportation takes place after he negotiated a 61 month sentence, and a 48 month suspension.
The group will arrive at Las Americas Airport at 2 p.m., and escorted to the Immigration Agency and later to the National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD), for a background check of local pending case.
The Police will heighten security in the ramp area, prior to handing Cuevas and the other deportees over to the Immigration Agency.
