THE CUSTOMS AGENCY RELEASES PHOTOS OF THE SEARCH AND SEIZURES.

MOCA, Dominican Republic. - Customs and Public Health Ministry inspectors began shutter businesses that sell unregistered pharmaceuticals and medicines at 5 a.m. today, with no disorder or arrests so far.

Iinspectors accompanied by the military broke padlocks on stores in the center of the city to seize medicines, but most of the owners had already removed the merchandise.

So far the authorities shuttered 65 stores and around 500 sacks of medicines have been taken, as nearby schools were closed to prevent disorders such as those staged in a previous operation.

Public Health spokesman Alberto Quezada said the operation includes the closing of several Moca streets and other businesses, and will continue until the sale of all illegal medicine ceases.

Brooto,

Moca would be one of those places that you can find less illegal medicine if this would include the whole country 85% of pharmacy would have to be closed out. They are not trying to end this they just want a Headlines that says they are doing something in 3 months in back to business. Watch for those pharmacies re opening soon with a new name but the same owner

Remember we are in the era where Leonel School of Headlines dominates the news.

I'm with belly on this one. If this was something the government was taking seriously it would be a nationwide crack down besides I'm sure the capital has more illegal medicines than moca
