SANTO DOMINGO. - Public Health Minister Monday vowed to continue to shutter businesses that sell illegal pharmaceuticals in the town Moca, Espaillat province, even if it means confronting interests in his native region.

Bautista Rojas said the authorities will even shutter registered pharmacies that sell fake medicines, and noted that Public Health revoked the operating license of Distribuirora Ogé, and Distribuidora Jima, in Moca, and the pharmacies Miguelito, and Odesa, in the National District, with an unspecified amount of medicines seized during the searches.

In the last few days several personalities, including Espaillat province politicians and the catholic priest Rogelio Cruz have stated their support for the owners of the businesses affected.

The official said aside from closing businesses and revoking operating permits, charges were also filed against their proprietors.

Rojas said his department is on the alert to seize fake drugs, and warned that the authorities will continue the operation firmly.

Brooto

in Moca is less likely to find this practices and they want to give time for other province to clean their shelfs up before they get there. Why didn't they start in major cities because to many would have to be closed.

belly and brootto.

Sorry to disagree, but you guys could not be more wrong. Moca appears to be the epicenter of this condition. Not only are there probably more than 400 of these medicine vending posts. But there are several illegal medicine factories in the sorrounding areas.

I would guesstimate about 2 thousand employees.

The situation has been out of control for a while now.
