Santo Domingo. - A National District judge ordered the release on a writ of habeas corpus, of the Ukrainian journalist Larysa Naser, 34, arrested on charges of libeling the country in a newspaper published for the hotels in Bavaro, and for breaking Tourism Law 541 on residing illegally in Dominican Republic.
Permanent Jurisdiction judge Jose A. Vargas ruled to release the journalist who wrote the article “Russian Humor” which the newspaper Moct Bavaro published recently. The court ruled that the incarceration of journalist, resident in the Bavaro-Punta Cana area, was illegal
The Altagracia province Office of the Prosecutor ordered Naser’s arrest on March 18 prior to her deportation on charges of breaking the Tourism Law, for residing illegally in the country and for publishing false information.

everybody who does business here knows; if you have a company or any kind of institution and you publish ad's in a particular newspaper in a reasonable quantity, the same newspaper will never ever publish anything against your company, service or your products. More than this; if you sign an advertising contract with one newspapers for lets say 20,000 $US, you BY YOURSELF can write an article in favor of your company, product or service, or against your competition. One of their "journalists" will "spell check" it and put his own name above it. They are not even ashamed of this practice or making this deal in a dark corner, they offer you this service in written form, by fax or e-mail. NO, N O N E Dominican Newspaper has any kind of integrity.
I see what you saying and thats something that happens but still would like to know how much you know about this story to make comments like you earlier. I agree we should a freedom of speech but should not include racism and prejudice against a certain group or color because thats just a cheap excuse to hide their true color and what they and those that agree really feel like. Maybe should due something like this in Russia and guess what she would have been lost and never found. Lets remember Russians have no respect for any other nation don't believe me ask Geogia or Now Canada.
