Santo Domingo.– Saying it wishes to make official communication more transparent and effective, the Leonel Fernández administration has created the National Agency for News and National Matters (Antena), which features the internet television channel República Dominicana TV.
News of the agency's formation caught colleagues by surprise. Antena's web site began to post information only hours after the government announced its creation. "However quietly and discreetly, this project has been under way for some time," Antena's editor told the press.
According to other press sources, the government's project has generated turf wars and uncertainty among employees with existing state-run news outlets, like the Government Center for Information and the State Corp. for Radio and Television (Certv).

Fernandez is bankrupting the country and now he has antenaenlinea to keep the good news flowing.
revitalized daily.
It will probably become just an initial flash and then it deteriorates with time.
And really did we need another government news internet site? They don't know what to do with the public's money other than to compete with independent news sources?
