SANTO DOMINGO. - Around 500,000 units of antiviral tablets used to prevent swine flu will arrive in the country on Saturday, said Elena Fernandez, director of the Government’s Essential Medicine Program (Promese).
The medicine will be enough to dose 50,000 patients, a figure the World Health Organization considers sufficient and will be administered free of charge in the cases which may surface, the official said.
Fernandez said the medicines will be distributed in hospital centers and Promese pharmacies across the country
She added that the health authorities have 500,000 masks available and a large amount of antibacterial soap, both productx bought by the government at a cost of RD$50 million.

If by the odd chance that some is left over after that then it will be sold to Haiti.
