Street at the corner of Mella in Salcedo’s El Matadero sector. He was in
possesion of a .38 cal. revolver, serial number JV44401, two shells, and two
black caps with a fox logo and a knife.

Wow now we just need the police to do a full report like this when Crooked cops are involved naming names and everything but thats not going to happen anytime soon. Remember that Drug Dealer and Crooked cops should be dealt with in the same way. So we can have a better country moving forward. I'm surprise how much info the can get when they want.

Rule of law must prevail; such activities must not go unpunished.
This is a good start. We must dispense similar justice to all perpetrators, no matter their class, rank or political allegiance. Equal justice for all should be motto. In the end, having a credible, honest and legitimate judicial system would certainly make DR a better and infinitely more attractive and prosperous place for all.
While we are at it, let's eliminate those resort-like prisons, and assure that in prison like in death we are all equal. This could be a great deterrent for white collar and govt and military crimes.

Those people are puppets and they don't represent the "people" (el "pueblo") as they say. Their "masters" are national and foreign politicians.

Belly, they know who these people are and have been keeping an eye on them for a while. Also, when they caught the men that shot at the police, they told the police who paid them and gave them the weapons. The shooters were caught on camera and were identified.

No wonder our society had decay so much over the past 20 year. Now the thugs only getting arrested when they shoot at the police. WTF is this. Where are the police of the past when you needs them? For the thugs for even looking the other way will have warranted a secure death at the hand of the police. We need someone like Balaguer mano dura who will gives green light to the police to take out our garbage away and then tell the human right to fukk off.
Now we have Leonel present day getting all kind of awards from human right. The criminal got more right than the citizen being robbed. Our country is now being run by ternational ngo. God knows what 30 year from now how it will be to lives in DR if we don’t get our act together.

well, despite the outcry from Human Rights groups about the questionable actions of police in the DR, this press release proves that the DR is more moderate than many other caribbean countries. there is no such thing in a place like Jamaica, for instance, as a man in jail for shooting at a police officer. that is a game of last man standing. it is either you kill the cops, or the cops kill you. no time wasted on arrests. no tying up the court system. shoot at a cop, be prepared to die on the spot. so, the DR can be considered moderate, in the larger scheme of things.

it funny how DT translate the nickname of Ramon Thomas Ramirez Hernandez, a.k.a. Richard Puñalá (Richard “the Stabber”)
but Mr.Nelson Junior Caba Polanco a.k.a Chulumpúm doesn't get his nickname trasnlated.
