Santo Domingo. - Armed Forces minister Rafael Peña yesterday said Dominican authorities investigate what the three Dominicans were doing in Venezuela and arrested there, together with a Frenchman with a cache of weapons.

The military official said so far they only have their names, but investigate to see who they are, when they arrived in Venezuela and why. “What we have right now are the names of the people who are implicated in that case, the inquiries are taking place and will determine what those people were doing in Venezuela.”

He said the Dominican and Venezuelan authorities are working to conclude the investigation.

The Dominicans Luini Omar Campusano de la Cruz, 38, Edgar Florián Sanchez, 29, and Diómedis Campusano Perez, 31 were arrested Saturday on charges of terrorism, together with the French national Laurent Frederic Bouquet, whom the Venezuela authorities say is highly experienced in military matters.

Among the weapons seized are 500 grams of C4 explosives and 14 assault rifles.

The Immigration Agency said neither the names of the three Dominicans nor the Frenchman figure in the files of the intelligence agencies at the Las Americas Airport.

French head team is a pro.Dominicans no reference as SOB.They are terrorists and one of them is called Omar, suspicious name.Facts are not clear .But DR is still a good partner of the bolivarian republic .

I knew they were tracking travelers at Las Americas Airport. Every time I depart Las Americas Airport I am searched by customs. I usually tell the customs agent I didn't come to DR to do time in your prison.
I am waiting for the National Geographics " Lock up Abroad" to do an episode on DR prisons. The funny things about customs in DR. They never search families with children. They do search mostly dark skinned males. I have seen it every time I depart DR.

agibus,

How do you know that the Frenchman is a "pro?"

How do you know they are Terrorists?

Why are you suspicious of a name like Omar? (I know lots of Dominicans named Omar.)

Aside from the fact that the DR NEEDS to buy oil from PDVSA how are they a good partner of Vene.?

I might not like or respect Chavez anymore than the next guy; however, he is the duly elected president of the country of Venezuela, and I must respect the will and choice of those people, and so should everyone else.

What the heck are two-bit dominicans doing interfering with the internal affairs of Venezuela? Especially when they have so many problems of their own and don't seem to care about them. Why not go after the present dominican govt instead and everything it stands for, particularly corruption?

I truly hope these guys were just mis-guided drug dealers and not involved in any plots against Chavez, for he is clearly a Venezuelan problem-let them take care of their own problem. Even the mighty USA, as much as it would like to get rid of Chavez, isn't doing anything overtly to bring him down.

If I were Chavez, I would leverage the people's emotions and send these individuals to the firing wall, to send a clear message to future wannabe's.

These guys who were caught in Venezuela should spend some hard time in Venezuela jail to learn there lesson. What are they even doing in Chavez land selling drugs? The DR gov't is so sad that anyone can be shot and the investigation leads nowhere. How many more years do we have to go through all this B.S. in DR. When I go I have to be with about 8 or 9 dudes with a pistol cause people want to rob you. I go to relax spend time with family ,but I have to act like a thug in order to protect myself it' totally out of control.

AnthonyC,

I take exception to your calling my mother a bitch and I must certainly hope that DT sensors would as well. That is a direct attack on an uninvolved person who is sacred to me. You are not qualified to shine her shoes, much less call her a bitch!

I find your comments both tasteless and despicable, and you transgression so deep that I have no respect for you. You have insulted everyone's mother because they disagree with your views, right or wrong, and that is utterly unacceptable.

Here is to hoping DT is properly policing sight and will ban you for life hereafter. Others have been banned for lesser offenses.

I have to question the likelyhood of calling anyplace '' paradise'' let alone a vacation destination where a person needs to be '' packin heat '' to feel secure because they're too paranoid to take a piss against a palm tree in thier own backyard in fear of a couple of hood willies hiding behind the wall . Does the thought of staying home and buying an annual membership to the public swim club offer more peace of mind ?
I agree with glorma ! IF J.F.K and Uncle Sam were not able to rid Cuba of the BIG BAD WOLF after fifty years , certainly its going to take a little more than a couple of Dominicano ghetto blasters to shut Hugos big mouth and dethrone him..

People like this clown are the scum of the earth, goulet. Religious hypocrites with a condescending demeanor. No quarter for them and I'll be doing some praying of my own that some day soon someone gives this clown a fat lip or worse.

I made no threat you goon...but then again I'd expect you to misunderstand anything I wrote seeing as how for your people a certificate from Bible class is considered higher education.

A hooded armed robber bursts into the Bank of Italy and forces the tellers to load a sack full of cash.

On his way out the door with the loot, one brave Italian customer grabs the hood and pulls it off revealing the robber's face.

The robber shoots the guy in the head without hesitation!
He then looks around the bank to see if anyone else has seen him.

One of the tellers is looking straight at him. The robber walks over and calmly shoots her in the head.

Everyone by now is very scared and looking down at the floor.

"Dida anyone elsa seea my face?" calls the robber.

There follows a tense silence. Then an elderly Italian gent, looking down, tentatively raises his hand and says:

"I tinka my wifa may have caughta glimpse"
