Santo Domingo,. - Lourdes Contreras, INTEC University’s Gender Training Center director and an activist feminist, was arrested Wednesday afternoon by United States authorities Immigration in Miami while stopping there for a connecting flight to Kingston, Jamaica, where she was to participate in the international seminar “Gender and Governance.”
Contreras’ relatives said they were notified of the arrest by a person who’ll participate in the event and who flew together with the activist.
As of 8 p.m. Wednesday, Contreras’ relatives were unaware of her whereabouts.
Because Contreras has a current United States visa, her relatives can’t explain the reasons for her detention and for being held incommunicado, actions they called arbitrary.

I wonder why? They have no reason to do so.

I don't get it, if she was a terrorist like that dude who blew up the plane in Venezuela, she would be admitted to the US, but being a social protest chick, well, that is out of bounds. Remember, all the goons from the Bush crime family still have some control over the appendages of US government, and a police state is a police state is a police state. Perhaps it is because she is the supportive wife of Narciso Isa Conde, known FARC terrorist that the DR protects and provides refuge and even a newspaper column to spout his nonsense. President Fernandez even meets with him from time to time and gave his bodyguards back their weapons. I have never understood why Colombia has never requested his extradition to be put in jail with all his murderous brothers in Colombia.
