Baní, Dominican Republic.- The Peravia province Instruction Court judge rescheduled for Thursday, June 4 the arraignment of the 25 accused in the underworld killings of seven Colombians in Paya and the alleged transfer of 1,300 kilos of drugs presumably cocaine.

Judge Bartolome Castillo, after deliberating for more than two hours in a crowded courtroom, ruled for the accused, whom demanded that the Justice Ministry remit the evidence and reinstate the terms, so they can conduct a proper defense.

The judge also ruled against the motion by the defense lawyer for Augusto Alberto Daneri Andújar, charged with money-laundering, of a separate trial, arguing that he has the right to expedite his case.

All defense lawyers said they’ll appeal the rulings against their clients by judge Castillo, of whom Castro said "doesn’t know what he’s doing" and of being “sequestered by the Justice Ministry.”

One of them, Jaime Caonabo Terrero, lawyer for Luis Lara, visibly annoyed, said he’ll file a challenge to the ruling in the term stipulated by law, which is three days.
