SANTO DOMINGO.- A new agreement the ex presidential candidate Miguel Vargas reportedly reached with key figures of the once powerful PRSC party, with alleged promises of elective posts, has roiled Dominican politics and may signal the end of that organization, now a minority opposition group, which had been in power for 22 years under the shadow of the late Joaquin Balaguer.

The negotiations to be announced this week involve PRSC general secretary Victor Gomez, who together with the legislators Agne Berenice Contreras, Remberto Cruz, Sergio Cedeño and German Castro, would join the opposition PRD party.

In that regard, the presidents of the PRD and of the PRSC, Ramon Alburquerque and Federico Antún, admit to having heard what they say is a rumor.

Alburquerque said it the report is certain, the legislators would be welcome, but affirmed not having official information on the matter, whereas Antún said he’ll wait and see because every comes and goes where they wish and a party doesn’t have anyone under lockup.

It was the only patriotic political party in DR! Now that the choices for representation has narrowed down, we are doomed to become Haitian. Anyone who critiqued (or criticized) the ditactorship for the 1950, YOU ARE A S.O.B. because you are living in a shameful autocratic government!

Do the other 2 stand for anything?, NO! The PRSC was barely alive anyway. There's a patriotic party, but it is tiny. It's the nationalist Fueza Nacional Progresista. Those guys are still standing up for our country.

It is so typical to see a Lebo-Dominican involved with the Reformist Party, everyone on my mother's side is a red, Josecito Hazim doesn't stay behind.

Guys this is much to do about nothing.

The PLD is the new PRSC just like PRSC was the reincarnation of the Partido Dominicano!

Balaguer and Trujillo are laughing it up with Lucifer!
