SANTO DOMINGO.– A National District court on Friday placed a restraining order against ruling PLD party senator Alejandro Williams, to cease his actions to find reporters’ sources which revealed he’s the target of an investigation into tax evasion for an alleged fraud against the United States Medicare.

Civil and Commercial Chamber Court judge Pedro Reinaldo Vásquez ruled for the request filed by the journalists Margarita Cordero, Maria Isabel Soldevilla and Norma Sheppard, accusing Williams of harassment by using private investigators to visit their homes and ask questions.

The judge based his ruling on the confidentiality of journalistic sources and ordered the lawmaker to cease all efforts to force the reporters to reveal them.

About time... His constant absence from the senate are proof in itself of the abuse this guy inflicts upon his office.

PERFECT candidate for a Washington senate seat. Extradite him now and issue a special 1 of 50 different visa classifications to get him there on a US DOS G-5. This guy is el premio for the job!

Vivacuba;

We have plenty of arrogant SOB's in the US Congress without adding someone of William's calibre to the mix.
Bring him back to the DR, cancel his US Visa andlet him stew in his own juices here.
The man( ?) is a fool of the first water.

They are talking about him:

Money worship
Hoy newspaper's Que Se Dice commentator focuses today on the large turnout at the funeral in tribute to drug trafficker Rolando Florian Feliz, known for extreme violence in his life and multiple crimes. Claudio Acosta writes that the tributes to "the leader" work against Dominican society, and are a clear demonstration of inverted values that corrode morality. He makes the point that the worship of Feliz can be attributed to a society where the pursuit of the fast buck has grasped the youth. "But the chief exponents of 'worship of easy money' are not drug traffickers like Florian, as one would think, but politicians who for decades have rubbed their irregularly obtained benefits in our faces with absolute impunity, with fortunes inflated by prevarication and theft, which could be described as the great leap from flip flops to SUVs".

After watching the Dominican government in action I thought the restraining order was going to be against the Ethics committee because they have been hounding him so. He shouldn't have to justify his presence or absence to anyone he is a paid senator and therefore you should expect nothing from him but corrupt acts (seems polititians are the same world wide). Fernandez will no doubt pardon him anyway were he to go to jail.

A restraining order? To keep him from going to the Senate, seems to me he has a handle on that already.

Maybe all blacks in DR are haitians.Very stupid to say they are indios del caribe.
Margarita ,Maria Isabel,Norma are dominican journalists.Non whites or morenas even indias.
Senator Williams is not haitian but a good dominican tigrito.papichulo.
