SANTO DOMINGO. - The number of people displaced by the 13 days of downpours across Dominican Republic rose to 4,365 as of Sunday, while it looks for Leudi Garcia, 21, missing after trying to cross the Sánate river, in La Altagracia province (east).

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) said three people have died , 19 communities are cut off, 873 houses were damaged and 500 people remain in shelters.

The Meteorology Office forecast an improvement as of Monday night, while the country will remains under the effects of a tropical depression, though not as intense.

It said the southeast, northeast and regions, the Central Mountain Range and the border zone can expect downpours today, whereas the COE still has 21 of the 32 provinces on alert.

Tommy, I passed Puerto Plata on the way to Samana and it was raining all over... I hit a huge puddle at 100 mph it was intense

lol no I was in an FX 35. The Hummer would slice through the water like a hot knife cutting butter. The FX handled the puddle pretty good, but I did have to let go of the gas

yes there are many spots that you can reach 100mph in a fast car with good brakes. everyone usually drives 80 on the road coming out of el Cibao airport. 100 is nothing if you know the roads by memory and remember where the big pot holes are. lol
