SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican and Haitian governments may announce a solution to the weeks long standoff between truckers from both countries today, after their unions agreed to negotiations over their respective demands in a meeting yesterday held in the border town Jimaní.
With officials and diplomatic representatives of both governments as mediators, the two sides advanced on seeking a solution to the confrontation between the Dominican truckers grouped in Fenatrado and the Haitian par Fenatrath, as hadn’t been done in previous meetings.
Dominican ambassador in Haiti Rubén Silié, who takes part in the talks, said a definitive solution is expected after a meeting at noon today. "I’m optimistic, I believe we’re close to an agreement. In the meeting tomorrow (today) both unions, the Haitian government and the Dominican government will participate.”
Silié, in a telephone interview for newspaper Diario Libre from Port-au-Prince, said the situation of trade has been the topic of most concern since the vendors and the people who live off the interchange of merchandise are the most affected by the standoff. “That’s one of the motivations to advance on a solution as soon as possible. The situation of the truck drivers not only affects retailers, but the families who live off it."
The meetings have been headed by Silié and Haiti’s ambassador in Santo Domingo, Fritz Cinéas, and the head of Fenatrado, Blas Peralta, and his Haiti par, Jean Fritz Constant, and other senior officials.

Haitian sources say that the Haitian "political marchand", senator Jean Anacassis
(looks like the one with the white beard), who was reported to be behind the boycotts, some say for personal gain and toll gating, and to further his own presidential ambitions, as he is an adversary of Preval.
Same source mentioned that the senator has a long history of contributing to stall DR-Haiti trade,
and he was also involved in banning Dominican chicken and eggs under a lame excuse, so allied
importers could profit, importing them from Venezuela at a higher price.
In either case the Haitian consumers have to pay more out of their already thin pockets.

What you won't acknowledge you hateros, is that if it was under that idiot of George Bush the son's Administration, the Dominican army would have long time started to parade along the border and to shoot our citizens. Now that we have a Democrate Presidency, you are keen to come around the table and negociate like you should have always been doing and not by using violence against our citizens.
This stand off, is just the tip of the Iceberg, for a lot of "dossiers" need to be clarified too, and if Haiti wanted to use the border and the huge trade imbalance between our two countries as leverage (some like our friend Generoso will call it blackmail), I am pretty sure and certain that your eyes would have finally opened up and make you see your smallness and your economic fragility, and it would surely make you understand that Haiti has the possibility to not only catch you economically but overtake you and leave you in the dust.
Shut down the damn' border and let's see.

And you hatemonger Genoroso,
You are pretty lucky that the senator anacassis is not our president, for if he was, you would have had a lot of trouble finding the 650 millions dollars economic shortfall his sanctions would have forced you into. Keep biting the hand that is feeding you and you'll find out one day what has happened to fools who did the same.

As usual you speak recycled garbage, we all know that you sympathize with Aristide and his gang, of mega corruptors.
Hatemonger? looks who is taking, the mother and father of hate, the one who threatens boycotts and fantasizes about impossible dreams, from the cold lands in the northern tundra.
Get back in the mango container, you first used to sneak into Canada, and install yourself in the near disintegrated failed state, to see how you can get the few crumbs that may be left to plunder.

It is easy to notice when someone is hurt, and you hateros are hurt by my truth. Where is the bravado of your Union President? I thought he would have shut down the damn' border today. Ha ha ha ha!! you are all the same, big talkers and little doers. At list your German descent citizen whose name is Koenig, like all cold and calculated bastard, has been quick to realize that that big mouth must be sidetracked and silenced, and to let people with real brain take over the file.
From: Algeria
AH! I knew it. Like that video on youtube said" Mr. Blas Peralta "Are you gonna bark all day, little doggy, or are you gonna bite?"
I guess little doggy Peralta was simply barking and as usual he was barking up the wrong tree. Mr Koenig was right to put the muzzle on him and tell him to shut up.
Ah! Dominicans, Dominicans when will they ever learn? They sell their country to the Europeans for peanuts and now they think that they are hot tamales, a few highways here, a Metro there, all for what? Where is your Dignity Dominicans? Look how the business sector AKA foreigners chose money over your little Dominican Pride. When we Haitians say we are going to do something WE DO IT that's call sovereignty something that DR no longer has.
From the look of things one can assume that the Haitians are getting what they want but then AGAIN HAITIANS ALWAYS get what they want in DR. We run the entire island from east to west. Oh! it;s true, it's true.

Belly,
How come you, the hateros, reserve yourselves the right to throw any kind of idiotful insult at us, and then, as soon as we react, you start crying and howling like a little puppy dog. Once again, let me tell you that there is an old saying that states : "who wants to be respected, respects himself first." And my friend, by insulting us and trashing us all day long won't bring you any sort of respect from us. As long as you want to trade insults with us it's fine for me, but at least be a man and stand your ground, and stop whinning when we catch you in the chin.
As for your last words, if you were more intelligent about how the WWW (World Wide Web) functions, you would have understood that the more hits a web site generates, the better it is for business. So, I think the Dominicantoday webmaster should rub his hands when constating how often we Haitians are hitting his URL (Uniform Resources Locator) which is short for Internet adress.
Have a good day K.H.
