Santo Domingo.- The Government’s anti-corruption agency (DPCA) asked the San Juan de la Maguana Instruction Court incarcerate two ex Agriculture Ministry officials, charged with embezzling RD$79 million in the purchase of around 380,000 tons of onions.
DPCA director Hotoniel Bonilla requested the incarceration of Agriculture’s ex Southwest Region director Antonio Ramirez, and Victoriano Reyes Mesa, who weighed the onions without being an employee of that department.
Bonilla also requested an exit impediment and bail against the sub-zone official Héctor Morillo, and Fernando A. Ogando, technician to the regional service and agasint the farmers Rafael Reyes Mesa and Hungria Jiménez.
Agriculture sent a report detailing the irregularities allegedly committed in the case.

That could be one of the dumbest comments ever posted. You are saying that crimes that are discovered after they happen should not be prosecuted? Prosecuting these men, if guilty, will show our current band of thieves what awaits them and just possible help them decide to do the right thing (for once).

That's not even to mention the cheese cake that they stole !

Not just jail them take away their ill gotten money and assets too. If it is shown any family members are involved or friends all their assets should be forfeitted also. If your in the corruption business and get caught expect to be penniless in jail.

DPCA is one of the only parts of the gov. in DR that i give the benefit of the doubt because they have acted on many cases and put people in jail. Now the non-gov hero in DR is Nuria Piera who is showing all this jounalist how to really put crooks on the spotlight. by the way DPCA has put Ing. Segura the guy from PRA in custody and without pay untill the full investigation is done. Trust me Nuria is going to be on to of this untill this guy gets fire just like the first one she uncovered. I say Nuria Piera for president. And Sen. Wilton Guerrrero For vice-president
