The go, they come, they change their ID, and go back.
Santo Domingo. - Central Electoral Board (JCE) judge John Guiliani said many extradited Dominicans are using documents of deceased people to change their identity and conceal their past life.
He said most of those people who are extradited from the United States have an ID from the “blue booklet” and not registered in the current system, for which he said makes it easy to locate those who’ve died to swap identities.
Guiliani warned that people who want to change their identity can violate the delayed declarations process, because the requirements have become too flexible to provide IDs for those who don’t have one.
The official, who coordinates the JCE’s Disabled and Cancelled Commission, said he’ll work with the Justice Ministry and the Police for them to immediately notify the JCE when deportees arrive. “I’m concerned that right now many Dominicans are increasingly being extradited from the United States, which is directly proportional to the number of ID thefts that are taking place using deceased people.”

I thought all Dominicans living outside of Dominican Rep were among the wise and top class citizens. So how come some of them get to be deported? Does that mean mean all dominicans are criminals? Of course not, but, If their country is so perfect, so what are they doing in somebody else country? I don't get it. How come a citizen of this perfect nation misbehave. If DR get to be in the same condition like Haiti is today do not expect better.

Haiti,
many Dominicans deported are usually illegals that want to make fast cash in what ever way in order to get back to DR and buy a nice SUV and buy women.... Most Dominicans in the US are in fact hard working and make an honest living

xwill7,
You are right about most dominicans.. we do come here to make and honest living. Its just sometimes doing the right thing is so hard, when you see dudes that cant even pronounce Bentley, driving them and you know they havent been in the country over 6 months. its hard waking up everyday to work a 9-5 and make an honest living. These dudes made so much money that when they get deported they dont care because they are multi-millionaires. when they do get deported what they do is they tend to expand their empire to europe.

I think the real issue is the use of deceased' names. That's pretty rough. ID theft is ID theft. Even the dead deserve the dignity of their names....intact and secure from criminal misuse.

yes, but its better to make a honest living and not worry if the next car that pulls up is going to shoot you. Only a the big guys make it, the small time players are usually killed, serve long jail times, or deported back to DR and start from scratch.

Well perhaps Mr. Einstein you should be the example to your people, return to Haiti and change the course of your peoples and your own future instead of casting stones at others. This is typical wasted energy by you, your people and others. It is really sad when all neighboring countries want nothing to do with your people and the like. And it is unfortunate that We Dominicans have to bear the brunt of your peoples unforgiving incompetence and stupidity. So you don't like Dominicans and their attitudes then stay out. Go back to your beloved country and deal with your problems as well will deal with ours. Fix your own house before criticizing others.

Must deported Dominicans that I know or have met are not big time drug dealers,
They do not have that type of connection or intelligence.
Most I have met are small time drug dealers and they fail to invest into legal endeavors.
I have met intelligent drug dealers, these men/ woman get deported mostly do to snitches.
“And we all know what happens to snitches”
It is important that if you do get into drug dealing, that you do know how to wash the money. And stay away from the snitches.
I can not condemn drug dealing in its entirety. Even the United States government has been involved in drug dealing. “Iran Contra”
In conclusion, the smart ones know. They can and will be deported if they are caught. And most think of exit strategy, Plus a means of survival in the Dominican Republic if they do get caught and deported.

Drug dealing is a cancer to communities of color and it SHOULD be condemned. Drugs destroy lives....divide families.....send fathers to prison and send children to the streets in search of role models.....drugs take lives.....There's nothing - NOTHING - positive about the drug game. And whether its Jermaine or Jose out there selling, they're not setting up shops in Beverly Hills. They're setting up in black and latino communities....and selling primarily to those populations. Look what's happening in Quisqella right now as the Colombianos try to make the RD the next big transhipment point.....I'd hate to see La Dominicana turned into Mexico.
