SANTO DOMINGO.- President Leonel Fernandez announced yesterday that he requested of the United Nations Environment Program, through United Nations National Development  Program (UNDP), to evaluate the cement plants being built near the Los Haitises National Park and in Luperón, Puerto Plata, to make a final decision.

In a luncheon with media directors in the National Palace, Fernandez affirmed that on controversial issues which affect public opinion he’ll seek out the expertise of neutral international organisms to make the corresponding decision.

The chief executive’s comments came during a luncheon with media directors Wednesday afternoon.

Leonel will go to NYC to speak to the third world bosses and get what from them?
Will they lend them a few millions for bridges and tunnels, a billion for trains and scenic highways for tourists?

I really think it would be a sham and mockery of palimentary proceedures. Leonel represents his constituents in the Caribbean nation that supposedly elected him and re-elected him by popular demand? Why would he need the opinion of some diplomat from Myanmar, or an embassador from Abu Dhabi? Esta fallando pero con mayusculas!

Rep. Dom. el pais donde Fernandez Reyna!

manolin;

In three more years, if the DR isn't bankrupt by then, you will merely elect another scam-artist to hold the highest office of the land along with his equally corrupt hangers-on.
Read the history of the DR and teell me just what is different then the past 500 years.
The DR isa feudal state masquerading as a democratic republic, but it in no way resembles one in actuality.
Your politicians lie to you, promise you the Sun and the Moon, then laugh at you for 4 years while you do nothing but suffer their arrogance and greed.
Whoever said you were qualified to vote for ANY government? They were FOOLS and so are you.
The "you" in this case is meant to be in the PLURAL, not in the SINGULAR.
